Can anyone recommend a garage that could replace a failed Karoq digital instrument panel
Thanks everyone for your contributions. I've just caught up on the thread after a couple of weeks away. Makes for very interesting (and entertaining) reading. Thanks also, thamestrader for the info about Richter Automotive. I'll definitely get in touch with them. Update on my situation is that in order to have our driving holiday around the UK and Ireland I bypassed the speedo (as suggested in this thread) using a cheap OBD2 device bought on Amazon Arestech 5.5 inches A8 OBD2 Windshield HUD Head Up Display and yes it does look like ar*etech when you read it :D. Checked with my insurance that they would continue to cover me. They said because the car had not been modified in any way, they would honour any claim and it was noted on file for reference. It worked perfectly over about the 2000 miles we covered and is actually pretty cool to use apart obviously from not being able to see all the warnings/info about cruise control etc. It even allows you to change various settings including calibration so you get an accurate mph/kph (used phone GPS to verify) and all for 30 odd quid. Meanwhile, I got the Skoda customer satisfaction team involved after my Skoda garage refused to offer me a discount beyond 50% of just the labour cost (ie. a saving of not a lot). They were fairly helpful. Actually spent a good hour over two sessions on the phone to them while they took notes to understand the full situation and history of the car. They explained that any discount/ concession had to be initiated by the retailer (ie. the Skoda dealer) and then Skoda would enhance/match the retailer offer. They put some pressure on the garage based on what I'd told them and the outcome as of last week is that they have agreed to give a 50% discount, so now if I want to go ahead then I get it replaced, including labour costs for £1150 inc vat. So I guess now the question is assuming Richter automotive can repair it for less, is it of any value to have it replaced by the dealer and keep my service record all sparkly, or just go with whatever option is cheaper?

Can anyone recommend a garage that could replace a failed Karoq digital instrument panel
This follows on from my post from a few days back Having got the car booked into my local Skoda garage, they have now come back and told me the unit has failed and my only option is replacement. I was hoping it might be a software fix, but no luck there. Cost to replace, £2100 for the unit + £100 labour, and to make matters worse, the unit is on backorder so may have to wait 2 months to get one. The car is undriveable without it because there is no analogue backup for speedo. Car was a good'un until this happened. Part number is 565920790A and looks like I can get one here https://www.cars-equipment.com/en/shop/instrument-clusters-5/oem-565920790a-virtual-cockpit-instrument-clusters/ but I'd need to find someone who could fit it. My garage won't of course, because they haven't sourced the part themselves. Does anyone know if this cars-equipment site is ok to deal with? They get 4/5 on Trustpilot. Also, I'm in South London and need to find a garage/technician that could fit that thing for me. Any recommendations? Many thanks!

Digital Instrument Panel (Virtual Cockpit) has just stopped working
Took the car to the garage. The unit has failed. Unfortunately, it wasn't a software issue. Cost to replace, £2100 for the unit + £100 labour. They won't even have any in stock for 3 to 8 weeks. I'm now trying to source a unit myself and see if there's a non-Skoda garage somewhere that know how to and would be willing to fit it for me. Part number is 565920790A. Going to post to ask if anyone knows a London or near London garage that could do that!

Digital Instrument Panel (Virtual Cockpit) has just stopped working
Thanks for taking a look. Good suggestion! Tried switching view mode from the wheel controls and also playing around with digital panel brightness and layout options from the car menu but panel remains blank. Since I posted earlier I've also tried disconnecting the car battery, leaving it for an hour then reconnecting but that didn't help. Now trying to work out how to update software without paying the garage. The 'online update' option from the car menu just says 'not available' when I click it, even though I am connected to internet and have a subscription to Skoda Connect which is working and giving me live services. There is an option in car menu to update software via local file but that means I'd have to find the right file online somewhere and get it on an SD card in the right format so may not be possible!

Digital Instrument Panel (Virtual Cockpit) has just stopped working
Hi all. First off, if this is covered elsewhere in the forum, my apologies. I have searched and couldn't find anyone having had the same issue. I own a Skoda Karoq 1.5 SE L TSI 150 DSG, bought new in 2019. It has run trouble free since purchase and has had all scheduled services with no trouble. Until today, The digital instrument panel has worked without any issues. This morning when I went to start the car I noticed that while the white temp and fuel gauges (either side of, but separate from. the digital instrument panel) still lit as normal, the digital panel itself is completely dead, like a dead computer monitor would be. I have tried the following, neither of which resolved the issue: 1 - switched off the engine with the start/stop button, locked the car - left for a few minutes then unlocked the car, restarted the engine. Result: panel still blank. 2 - Using the service manual, located the internal fusebox (passenger side, behind glove box) and removed fuse no. 17 (Instrument cluster, emergency call) with the hope this might encourage a full 'reboot' of the panel. I was able to verify that I had removed the correct fuse (and that the fuse has not blown) because with the fuse removed, the temp and fuel gauges, which are part of the instrument cluster no longer lit when I started the engine. Result: Even after leaving the fuse out for a couple of hours and then replacing, panel still blank. All out of ideas now. May be coincidental but car had it's scheduled service at the Skoda garage a couple of weeks ago so wondering if it might be a software update that has caused this. That said, I would expect if that was the case it would have shown up immediately. Any thoughts/feedback/similar experience would be appreciated. Short of that if anyone knows how to manually update software I could give that a go, otherwise it's back to the garage! Many thanks, Robin

Hi from Robin
Hi all. Been the proud owner of a Skoda Karoq 1.5 DSG since 2019. It has been the perfect car for camping/ roadtrips for a family of 4 + dog. Until today, I would have been able to say the car has been entirely trouble free since purchase (bought new) but today have encountered an issue with the Digital Instrument Panel and hoping to get some advice on that through other owners in the forum. Cheers, Robin
