  1. Hi Gerrycan, it seems not worth the effort then to be honest. I think I would probably remove the central bench seat for most of the time although I suppose that may have in a pact upon sound insulation. Cheers
  2. Hi all, I'm currently driving a Superb as a company car but considering a Karoq next. I do over 25k miles a year, most due to work, and most of that is without passengers. Here's my question - does anyone here on the forum regularly drive their Karoq with the rear Varioflex seats removed, and if so have you taken any notice of the fuel economy? For reference, I'd be looking at the 1.6 TDI manual in SE L spec. Cheers! Rob
  3. Yes, using the VW website I got it working ok a couple of weeks ago.
  4. From my (limited) experience it overwrites the existing ones.
  5. It really wasn’t too bad TBH, the thing that threw me initially was using an old .txt file on the SD card and cleaning the hidden files that my Mac created. Once I’d done those two extra steps it worked perfectly.
  6. Hi Big John, they do offer speed and redlight cameras, but they can be downloaded and installed for specific countries to avoid those issues. They also make make it clear which countries have issues with cameras notifications from a legal perspective. Their wider POI database is really quite useful too.
  7. Following the links provided by Smudger I installed speed cameras and personal POI without an issue this weekend. Thanks for the help! After 20+ years of driving (without a single point on my license, ever) I like the additional notice of potential hazards on the road...
  8. Hi Smudgers, Thanks for taking the time to pull this together for me. I’ll give it another go at the weekend
  9. I just tried this today with my MY18 Columbus unit, I downloaded the latest files from Pocket GPS world, tried two SD cards and a couple of formatting options and couldn’t get it to work. I followed the instructions elsewhere on this forum and used the VW POI web portal, no dice. I probably overlooked something basic but haven’t had the time today to try any further.
  10. My 2.0 TDI 150 DSG SE-L Exec was ordered through the lease company on 14th July, delivered to me 1st October. hope that may be of use
  11. Hi Rhino, could you post a link to the cable if it works out ok?
  12. Thanks, I ordered mine on July 14th so if I get any updates with mine that may be relevant I'll let you know
  13. Hi John, I'm sorry but I can't answer your question, but when did you place your order out of interest?
  14. A brochure dated July 2017 is now available here.
  15. Well spotted, and if the whatcar website is accurate the 5-seat option for the SE L and Edition spec is a £500 saving over the 7-seat. Not quite as good as the £1k the saleswomen quoted me, but better than paying for 2 seats that I will never use!
  16. Hi guys, just thought I'd chime in as I was speaking to a Skoda sales person today about an Edition spec Kodiaq. She mentioned that it would be available to order "soon" with 5 seats, with a saving of around £1k when compared to the 7 seater Edition spec car. She said she expected to see the online configurator updated soon to reflect the new options.
  17. I just had a very mixed experience, turned up at 7:30am to drop my car off for a service and I was on my way in a courtesy car within 10 minutes. I received a call at 4pm to tell me my car was ready for collection. That was the good bit. When I went to collect the car the mileage written in the service book and on their paperwork was almost 600 miles higher than the actual speedo reading. Not a massive issue in the big scheme of things but I'm putting the car up for sale this week and a discrepancy like that can cause issues and raise doubts with potential buyers. When I pointed out their error I didn't even receive an apology and the customer service rep's attitude became very frosty. It was only a colleague intervening that got us anywhere, I'm now expecting an email from them tomorrow confirming that the VAG database has been updated with the correct service mileage. I then asked whether the car diagnostics was set up for fixed or variable servicing. 10k miles ago I was told by a service rep at another dealership (Corfe Mullen in Dorset, a good bunch of guys) that a previous garage seemed to have switched it onto 10k mile fixed intervals but advised me not to get it changed back to variable until after the next service (60k) due to the cambelt change. In the service book today they had written that the car is on variable intervals. I asked the service rep if they had switched it from fixed to variable without being asked (I had forgotten to mention it when I dropped the car off). He at first tried to blag me that it had always been on variable, then when i explained how I know it hadn't he then just said "it makes no difference, as the oil costs the same". I explained that it makes a massive difference, as I may get almost double the mileage between services on variable servicing intervals. The service rep then changed his story entirely (without checking with the workshop or any paperwork) and told me that they actually had switched it on to variable intervals for me. Amazingly I don't believe him for one second...
  18. Hi folks, I'm considering a switch from a Superb to a Yeti and I have a quick question if I may. I have a set of winter tyres on 16" steel wheels that normally live on my 2010 Superb elegance when the weather gets frosty, does anyone know if they'd fit happily on an Elegance spec Yeti Outdoor 2.0 170 DSG? Thanks in advance! Rob
  19. The original poster must have read my mind; we're considering the same switch in the next few months but I have a slightly different question. I have a set of winter tyres on 16" steel wheels that normally live on my 2010 Superb elegance, does anyone know if they'd fit happily on an Elegance spec Yeti Outdoor 2.0 170 DSG?
  20. Mine had the same issue and it was replaced free of charge by my dealer. They took photos of the badges and reported the damage to Skoda UK as defective parts so they could order the spares at nil cost.
  21. Thanks for the tips Steve, I'll check it out tomorrow.
  22. High guys, I'm in Germany at the moment visiting the in-laws and my Superb seems to have fallen ill :-( Driving today on the autobahn in heavy rain I experienced a complete loss of electrical power which lasted about a second or so. It happened a number of times and it was worrying enough that I travelled the last 50Km's on smaller Landstrasse roads in case she gave up totally. When the power dropped out, the dash went dark for a second or so, my Columbus went dark and the automotive power also dropped straight off. It was long enough for the speedo needle to spin round to zero then back up to speed again. I'm driving a 2009 2.0 TDI 170 DSG with 50k on the clock and it was serviced only 4 weeks ago. My gut reaction is that some water has got into somewhere that doesn't like water. Has anybody experienced this before?
