Hi Thanks for your reply. It’s a 1.5 tsi i have attached the service history it has a 12 month warranty it was purchased from an approved used ŠKODA dealership I didn’t hear it when I test drove it. They have said it’s the the oil circulating and now it’s the catalytic converter and perfectly normal i don’t know if I am being paranoid but I haven’t heard an engine make this noise before

Hi i have recently purchased my first ŠKODA however I am not sure if the dealer is trying to fob me off regarding the engine noise on cold start up. They say it is the catalytic converter and nothing to worry about. Is it usual for ŠKODA to make this noise I have never had an engine make this noise before. The car is in otherwise good condition, the service history isn’t perfect but not bad: it did go 4 years with no service but only covered 12,000 miles in that time I am not sure if I should return the vehicle.
