Thanks for your replies. Is there a brand of oil which is preferred by Skoda owners for the diesel engines or is it just a case of whatever you can get so long as it meets the specs?

Hi, I've just bought an Octavia 2015 TID 2.0 and the dipstick indicates the oil level is half way between the min and max lines. I'm not planning on servicing the car until the new year because it's just been serviced. However do the TID's burn much oil? If so I'll get a litre bottle ready for top-ups when needed!
