Replacement Sun Visor
Hello there, fellow Skoda Mk III drivers. I recently had the driver's side sun visor clip break off. I know this is a common issue, and also that you can't source the clip separately from the sun visor itself – it has to be a complete replacement. The 'correct' replacement sun visor listed online for the Skoda Mk III seems to be inexplicably expensive, even on eBay (often between £40 and £80). Being of a thrifty nature, I had a hunt around and found a VW part that looked like it had an identical clip, so I took a punt on it for less than £20 and it fitted perfectly – the clip and visor dimensions were indeed exactly the same as for the Skoda, so it popped right in. It comes with a cable poking out of the middle of the clip for the illuminated mirror, so just snip the cable off and you're good to go. Just search for VW part number 5GG857552. Hope this helps someone save some wonga!

Which fuse for 12v sockets?
Thank you all, that's really helpful stuff. I will put a 20 amp fuse back in there!

Which fuse for 12v sockets?
Hi guys, I discovered that the number 40 fuse for the 12v sockets had blown, and I’m not sure what amp fuse to replace in there. The blown fuse was a 20 amp, but the reason I’m asking if I should definitely fit a 20 amp replacement is because I’m powering a number of extra devices off the front socket (cigarette lighter) as follows: 4-way 12v cigarette lighter splitter powering: 1. 10 inch CarPlay monitor 2. 4K Dashcam 3. USB adapter to MagSafe iPhone charger 4. USB adapter for rear seats I’m afraid I don’t know enough about electrics to know if a 20 amp fuse is appropriate for all this, so your expert help is greatly appreciated! I should also say, the male part that goes into the front 12v socket has its own fuse in the barrel for an added layer of safety. Thanks so much in advance.

Hello Everyone!
Thanks, I ended up getting it done professionally. Cost a bit, but saved a lot of potential hassle!

Hello Everyone!
Thanks, I've watched a ton of videos on it and I think have probably decided to leave it to a pro. I'm too paranoid I'm going to drop something down one of the tubes!

Hello Everyone!
Hello hello, I recently purchased a 2016 Octavia 1.6 TDI that needs a bit of TLC. I don't know much about cars (in fact, basically nothing), but whenever I Google something to do with Skoda it seems to bring me to this site for the answer, so thought it was about time I joined up properly. Thanks for having me, and hope to be able to learn and share the knowledge as I dive into the first challenge of replacing the fuel injectors! Easy, right?
