    Yes it did! I got the update done at a Skoda dealer in the end (the link I had didn't work and it was in for a service last week anyway).

    I've been experiencing precisely the same issue, with the same model running the same firmware, since the end of last week (approx. 29th August). I've tried different cables, phones, etc., but to no avail. If I connect via Bluetooth as opposed to CarPlay, then there's no problem. Feels like a software issue...
