  1. Hi, Bit of an ongoing saga here with my infotainment system. It's a long story to ask a very quick question. I'll give you some background for context, the infotainment stopped working completely. I took it back to Skoda who initially just checked fuses (remember this bit), and wanted to charge £thousands to diagnose and attempt a fix. I sent off the headunit and screen to be fixed by a specialist. He confirmed the screen was fine, but the headunit needed repairing. He sorted it and I have video of them both working in his workshop. Now I have them back, I've refitted them, but the screen is blank. I know the unit is working as I can access the satnav, radio etc from the small menu behind the steering wheel. I've gone to check the Fuses for the infotainment screen and the fuse socket for the infortainment screen is empty! (socket 12 as noted in the manual) However, there is a 7.5a fuse in socket 11 which is for headlamp cleaning system, which I don't have. I dont know if thats unrelated, or if the guy who checked the fuse at Skoda put it back in the wrong place. So the question is, how do I find out what the fuse rating should be for the infotainment screen? I'll grab one from the local shop and drop one into socket 12. Desperate to get this done at this point. Thanks.
  2. What a hero. My next sidea was removing the electrical connections to let me remove the glovebox completely and having a look at the back. It looks like that's the next step. I was just hesitating because I was worried about causing any issues through removing those electrical connectors (I'm more of a woodworker than a car guy, so I'm out of my comfort zone) What manual is that screenshot taken from?
  3. Just some more pictures for context. Including a clear pic of the unit sitting in place.
  4. Hi, My infotainment unit has stopped working. Skoda want upwards of £1.5k to diagnose and sort it. I need to take out the unit in the glovebox to find the serial number. Thought it would be a straightforward pullout, but as the unit slides out, it hits the curve of the glovebox. Most of these I've seen online are mounted at the top of the glovebox, but this is mounted at the bottom. I've removed the entire glovebox, but that doesn't seem to help me. I can see what appears to be a separate plastic housing underneath the unit. I'm thinking if that comes off, I can angle the unit upwards and pull it out, but I can't get that to shift either. Has anyone done this or does anyone have any tips. I feel like I'm missing something obvious. I've attached pics of the unit pulled out as far as it'll pull out and the plastic housing under the unit (I have now removed those metal tabs, but still no movement) Note the unit is hitting the moulded glovebox, not the door. I'll try to add more pictures in a reply
