Not much to look at... But they did the job. Would say you have to be really careful when detaching the wiring. A broken wire or connector would be a real issue... Goes without saying not to force anything. When the clips are properly released the connectors slide out very easily. You can see I clipped the round ends off a bobby pin for the larger connectors, and a reshaped paper clip worked for the smaller ones. There are a couple (from memory) of purple clips which need removed also. I've tried to show how I used the paperclip... The file size is too big so I'll need to send the bobby pin photo in other reply.- Multiple Error Codes on Start Up
@MartinsgI'll send some photos of the "tools" today and some more info you might find useful. Usual caveat that I am not a mechanic...- Multiple Error Codes on Start Up
Yep, built in relay- Multiple Error Codes on Start Up

@Martinsg I've added some photos I took while I was swapping mine. I can send a picture of the old part tomorrow. It is a relatively straightforward forward process. Disconnected the battery terminals. Disconnected the positive wire running to the fuse box. There is a cable tie to cut on the firewall side of the fusebox and then with some careful persuasion the fusebox can be lifted free. Each wire then needs to be disconnected. I made the tools from a paperclip and bobby pin. I can send a photo of these tomorrow too. James- Multiple Error Codes on Start Up
Currently away with work, but I can post photos tomorrow. - James- Multiple Error Codes on Start Up
I have attached the part I bought for my car. My understanding is the faulty relay is built into the fuse box. (Engine compartment passenger side). 1.0tsi Fabia colour edition 2019. Do you plan to fit the part yourself? If so let me know if you have any questions etc.- Multiple Error Codes on Start Up
Hi all, I changed the fuse box on my car myself for the same reason as @kpugh. The cost of the part was around £100. I also spent £48 for a VW "specialist" to take a look at the car after I had an EML post install. Frustrating to pay £48 for no gain but it teaches me to be more vigilant when changing parts in the future. If you know what you're doing the part swap should take less than 2 hours. If anyone has any questions about changing the fuse box just let me know. Caveated - I am not a professional mechanic (clearly!). Cheers, James- New engine bay fuse box - engine management light & P0562 Code
Solved. Happy days. Frustrated with the garage I removed the fuse box from the car to check my own homework. Despite taking photos of the wiring before I removed the original, it seems like I had 2 of the wires in the wrong slots (Fuse F7 & F8 I believe). I removed these connections and reinserted them as per my old photos. Very annoying the garage didnt think to check my work as I stated on multiple occasions I had fitted the part myself, hey ho. I cleared the EML after reinstallation and it has not reappeared since (this was on Saturday morning). I have done a few hundred miles since. It also seems to have sorted the starting in cold weather issue which is why I originally changed it. Yet to have any properly freezing days yet though. Any questions about this just let me know. Replacement of the fuse box was relatively simple, using a bobby pin/ paper clip to disconnect the wires. James- New engine bay fuse box - engine management light & P0562 Code
Update 08/11: The fabia was at a local VW "specialist" over the previous 2 days. They called me on day 1 saying that they had cleared the code and were unable to replicate the fault. I did tell them it was intermittent and whenever I cleared the code it would come back shortly afterwards. They kept the car another day and there was no improvement. I had to collect as I need it this weekend. The EML is currently off, however I fully expect it to come back on. If/when it does, I'm going to take out the new fuse box, clean all the connectors and re-install it. I'll update again when I have more info. Cheers.- New engine bay fuse box - engine management light & P0562 Code
@nta16 Much appreciated and noted. Will do further checks and see if I can source a different scanner. I have the car booked into a VW specialist in a couple of weeks but was hoping to find a solution myself. Thanks again, will update thread once I know more, either from my own findings or from the garage.- Multiple Error Codes on Start Up
Hi, By no means a mechanic either but I had a similar issue on my 1.0tsi (2019) Fabia. When temperatures were dropping to low levels (3 deg C and below) the car would struggle to start and throw a bunch of errors. It would eventually sort itself out. I found a thread on BRISKODA stating that this could be caused by a faulty to engine bay fuse box. I changed this recently (around £100) and it seems to have done the trick. However, it has given me a permanent P0562 code & engine light so there is clearly something not quite right. Perhaps if I had the work done by a garage this wouldn't have happened... I have just added a new post to try and resolve this issue! Hope this is of some use. James- New engine bay fuse box - engine management light & P0562 Code
Good afternoon all, I recently changed the engine bay fuse box in my Skoda Fabia 1.0tsi (2019). This was performed to solve an issue where the car had difficulty starting when overnight temperatures dropped below around 3 degs. I found the advice on here that changing the fuse box can solve this issue and thankfully it seems to have done so... ...however, I now have an engine light for code P0562 "system voltage low". There are no symptoms showing themselves for this code, no starting issues, no battery light etc. and I have driven approx, 800 miles since changing the fuse box. I have tried clearing the code and it will stay off for a few starts and drives but ultimately always returns. Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated. I used an OEM part from Skoda for the replacement. Cheers James- Fuse box removal/ wire disconnection (engine bay)
Has anyone swapped a fuse box (engine bay)? Currently struggling to disconnect the wire that connect directly into the underneath of the fuse box... Thanks - Multiple Error Codes on Start Up
