Good morning, I have a 2011 Skoda Fabia MkII, 1.2 three-cylinder gasoline engine, which had never given me any problems until now. I’ll try to summarize: about a year ago, the car stopped detecting when the driver’s door was open. Since the car would automatically lock after 30 seconds, to avoid any unwanted incidents, I disabled the automatic locking feature via OBD and the Carista app.
Last weekend, I parked the car and pressed the central locking button on the remote, without realizing the driver's door was open... causing a disaster: the car autonomously turned on all the lights, including the brake lights, the emergency indicators, and the horn. I quickly had to find and remove the fuse for the horn to stop the disturbance... and all of this happened with the ignition off.
Other than that, the car starts and brakes fine, but it won’t turn on the lights or turns them on when it feels like it. It won’t allow me to use the indicators, etc. I’ve installed a new battery, checked all the fuses, and found nothing wrong. The car hasn’t been exposed to water recently, and I’ve never washed the engine.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Do you know what it could be? Thank you very much in advance.
