  1. Thanks for updating me and the info on oils . I screen shot it for keeps , keeping the car for a lengthy period that will be handy , thank you .
  2. Oh mine is 1.2tsi 2014 it takes 5w 30 and non brand oil I noticed difference with hearing chain on start more frequently but Castrol edge doesn't. Today I was parked and woman drove into wing so got to sort that now
  3. Hi , mine is 14 , and true nothing is forever even chains stretch , out of the two chains just give you longer service , Also I'm using Castrol edge all the time now.
  4. Ok right that I didn't know , so it's a good thing I'm changing it, again it's peace of mind .
  5. Hi Ootohere, that I can't answer I'm afraid I did alot of searching and was on alot of sites , my brother in-law thinks he heard the stealers say 200000 km but then I read 150000 , so I ordered a bilstein chain kit as the cover is leaking , also on start up the chain does sound loose , I noticed also when the oil gets near to change it makes noise more frequently and longer , also I found that these so called non brand oils that have same spec are **** , I did Castrol edge fill last change and the difference is very noticeable. I still get chain noise at start up few months after change , car has 139000 kmso I'm getting it changed , I tend to renew serviceable parts sooner rather than squeeze out and past service intervals as a precaution . Economy is still reading 5.5 give and take and still pulls , this model sportback has bit too much road noise for my liking.
  6. Hi kostas123 , yes , I had dealers phoned me today asking if I'll be servicing my car with them ha I said no after a quote with vat €1300 and parts for oil leak I got for €19 , so as the chain cover needs to be sealed I'm getting new chain/tensioners , serpentine belt and oil filter that be ready for winter also the car is coming up for 140000km and chains need changing at 150000. So I'm waiting for parts now .
  7. Thanks for advice , so I spoke with technician and basically I need sills I don't need new sump or oil seperator which is what service desk said to me hence the 1300 figure , went to local mfactor and got sills for 19 euro , I need to find good backroad mechanic as I'm physically unable to remove sump etc. getting oil smell in cabin now , Lh drive shaft seal . Sump sealant. T chain sealed up and he said while down there get oil seperator re sealed , all ready had new breather valve fitted , just unlucky I guess .
  8. Strange yes , must be quiet. The sump chain and seperator I can tube that , drive shaft seal leak is just a seal , I won't be getting them to do it anyhow . The leak isn't running but at same time I need done , my gut tells me sump main culprit . I know couple of reliable back street mechanics . I costed parts from 530 down to 150 that's including oil new oil . I'm sure I can knock another 400 off labour .I'll keep this post going untill I sorted it.
  9. Just back from dealers and they told me I need , l/h driveshaft seal , gearbox seal, sump seal , t chain cover seal , oil seperator+ seal . €1320 😔 . So at the moment motor factors I have asked can't get all the parts and one only 2 parts . Anyone had issues trying to get oil seperator, 1.2 tsi 86 hp nh1 2014
  10. Hi rum , I had the pcv replaced last full service by dealer , going Tues to see them again about t chain on start up, I changed the oil and oil leak , I'm thinking it could be sump as no oil above on engine bone dry . Thanks .
  11. Hi sorry yeah would be better, 1.2 tsi Skoda rapid sportback nh1
