Favorit Windscreen Wipers and Washers Not Working
Hi all, I thought I'd post some feedback on what was causing issues. Also our Favorit does not have an OBD socket, it was in fact manufactured in 1994 not 1995, but registered in 1995, I don't know if ODB ports were added in 1995? The faults occurring on several items that ran off of fuse 5 was a red herring, it turned out they all had individual problems. The washers and wiper not working was due to corrosion on the wiper switch contacts (see attached photos), once cleaned up with a brass brush all wipers and the front washer worked, the rear washer motor needs replacing though. Can anyone tell me where I can get the washer motors? We did replace one some years ago and it came from CZ, it might have been from BRISKODA but I can't find any listed? The reversing lights not working was due to a break in the wire where it exits the car body and enters the tailgate. The central locking not working was down to an inline fuse holder that was brittle and coming apart so this was replaced. We removed the aftermarket immobiliser and so far the intermittent starting problem hasn't recurred (see attached photos). Thanks for all the suggestions, I hope this may help someone else?

Thanks for the reply, what is a VSDS? Yes I've checked the connections in the wash/wiper lever and there is voltage getting to the wiper motor when the lever is operated. The reversing bulbs are good.

Favorit Windscreen Wipers and Washers Not Working
Hi all, we have a 1995 Skoda Favorit estate and the windscreen wipers and washers have stopped working. This had been an intermittent fault but now they have stopped altogether. Also the reversing light isn't working. I believe these all run off of fuse 5 but all fuses in the fusebox are good. We have replaced the relay for the intermittent wipe with a new one and tried swapping the other relays around. There is voltage getting to the front wiper motor, one when the ignition is turned on (for parking the wipers), and the next three terminals each have 12v in the three different wiper switch positions. I have tried turning the wiper motor by hand with a spanner and the linkage is free, and the motor parks the wipers when the ignition is turned back on. So it doesn't apear to be an issue with the wiper motor and in any case the rear wiper, both washer motors and the reversing light aren't working. We also have an intermittent fault with the central locking not working and another intermittent fault when the engine won't start due to no spark at the plugs. If it's left for a while it then starts fine? I don't think either of these are related to the wiper/washer problem though? The car has an aftermarket disabler fitted which we are going to try and remove at some point. If anybody has any suggestions or advice regarding the wiper/washers/reversing light problem I would be really grateful. Thanks.
