Exactly same thing with the Fabia I had, the previouse owner ditched it because of re-occuring engine warning lights. I got fed up with "Living with it" so got rid of the car.

Buy something other than a Fabia

Did you unplug the electrical connector to the throttle body to take it off and clean it, if so this could be your problem.

I have done just that, just got rid of mine as I was fed up with bad response from the throttle and numerouse stupid fault codes being thrown up, very irratic idling on tick over.
