Hello everyone! I have enrolled in this group as a Skoda Octavia 1.9 (2009, BXE engine) owner. I love this car, but with close 400.000 some failures are appearing!
At this moment I have a so very extrange failure, that my car mecanics or another Skoda owners from my area cannot understand:
My engine start without problems most times, but sometimes, the ignition do not start, I need close to 30 seconds or sometime 1 minute trying to start the engine. Seems the vehicle has not combustible, seems a diesel leakage with air in the circuit, but, the most strange situation is that seems this failure is only when I climb a mountain, this mean, when park my car in a hightgest area. I am living to sea level, and when move to some higthgest area, seems always fail the ignition. But is not too much height, perhaps arround 600m over sea level of altitude only, maybe it's not because of the altitude but because of the sudden change in altitude (atmosferic presure).
When the car ignites, not smoke, not strange noises, etc... seems that the vehicle has not combustible o injection is disable. It doesn't matter if I park the car uphill or downhill or on a flat spot, It also doesn't matter if wheather is hot or cold, or if the engine is still hot or very cold, at higher altitudes it seems to always fail and at lower altitudes it never fails.
I have purchase a OBD reader, to start to check engine params when not ignite. Do you have any suggestions on what engine parameters to check? Has anyone heard of this problem with the ignition at high altitudes?
Thanks for any avance!
Best Whishes
