  1. Hi all, My 2016 Octavia 2.0 TDI that’s done about 130,000 km. I’m based in a region with quite extreme temperatures .. 0°C winters and up to 50°C summers .. so I’m looking for an oil that can handle both ends well. I’m considering premium synthetics like AMSOIL and Motul. Has anyone run these in their TDIs? How was the experience? Did you notice smoother running, better protection, or any downsides? What change intervals worked best for you? Also, if you’ve had better results with other brands or grades, I’d love to hear your suggestions. Currently I use standard VW approved 5W-30/5W-40, but I’m open to switching if there’s a clear benefit.
  2. I own a 2016 Octavia 2.0 TDI with the DQ250 6-speed DSG gearbox. It’s time to change the transmission oil, and I’ve come across two fluid part numbers: G 055 512 A2 and G 052 182 A2. Which one should I go with for my car? Also, is it safe to go with Liqui Moly Top Tec 1800 DSG? I’ve seen a few people recommend it, saying it performs better than OEM fluid — would love to hear thoughts on that. Lastly, will 6 liters be enough for a complete service including filter replacement? Any tips, suggestions, or precautions from anyone who’s done this before would be really appreciated!
  3. I own a 2016 Octavia 2.0 TDI with 110,000 km on it, and I’m considering doing a basic Stage 1 tune using a Serial Port Switch (SPS) so I can switch between stock and tuned profiles. However, a friend suggested that it might be better to swap in a VRS 245 engine since it has the DQ250 transmission, which could handle the power well and should fit easily. I'm also open to other engine recommendations that would be compatible with my car. Looking for suggestions! what would i do?"
  4. I have a 2016 Octavia 2.0 TDI, and the alternator is currently not functioning. However, the car battery is fully charged, allowing me to start the car. I plan to take it to a mechanic, but I am concerned about the faulty alternator not charging the battery. My question is - if I start the car, will it stop running once the battery drains, or will it continue operating regardless of the battery charge level?
