  1. I did find this in another post. I'm hoping the Australian dealership just went on the first paragraph of official documentation without taking RHD into consideration. We'll see. "I looked at the official documentation of the heating system in Octavia and concluded that cause of the fault must be a damaged V428 module (front air distribution flap control motor) or some mechanical problem with the flap. The service manual says that on LHD cars, the dashboard must be removed for repair. In RHD vehicles access to the V428 servo motor is quite easy, because it is placed on the same side as LHD vehicles... and it means, that you should remove glovebox and you can get access to problematic part."
  2. Thank you both for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated . No codes but the dealer said of the flap motor "... no basic setting. Will require dash removal for further inspection 6-8 hours labour". I'll definitely shop around to see if another mechanic can access flap the motor another way rather than dismantling the dash.
  3. It's 43C here today and my A/C is only working on the dashboard side vents. It's OK, just takes longer to cool the car. I did the reset. It used to work but not anymore. The dealership says it will require a full dashboard removal to make the repair. Is there any way of accessing the area without doing this? It's not a critical issue but I'd like to resolve it without the expense of a full day of dealer labour. Any thoughts?
  4. 2016 Superb wagon with all the bells and whistles. Lovely car with a perfect balance of utility, comfort and more than adequate power. It's a162Kw with about 90K on the clock. Lately the car has developed some "idiosyncrasies". I think I can account for the intermittent start button as a chronic Superb issue and it'll need replacement in time. That said, though, sometimes the doors won't lock on finger touch, the reverse camera image doesn't show up now and then and the collision warning system gets oversensitive. My HVAC system played up too but I reset the system (thanks Briskoda) Is it likely to be one element of the system beginning to fail? Is this a common pattern as the car ages? Thanks, Michael
