  1. Hi All, Thought I’d update this for people who experience the same issue. long story short Skoda ended up changing the Cambelt, Coolant Pump and did a full service, sensor check and all fluids changed in the car. This strangely made the problem worse and the glow plug warning starting flashing almost immediately after leaving. I noticed this time it would come on after pushing on the accelerator hard. OBD scanned it myself and revealed a Fuel Rail/Pressure problem. diagnosis was a high pressure fuel pump gone. Since then, not had any issues with the car. Got there in the end, even if it did cost my company £3600 all in for all their work.
  2. Thanks for your replies all. I forgot to mention, so by way of adding some clarity, this car is a company car. It is serviced every year according to manufacturer scheduling. The coolant temp, assuming this is the small analogue dial on the left of the instrument cluster sticks at 90 no matter the temperature. My problem is the car going into limp mode. I actually watch the engine temp rather than the speedo as I know when it hits approx 116, the car is going to go into said mode and lose 50% power. It’s like it cannot handle prolonged speed. The car is a 2020 Estate, SE. It’s a work horse and covers 20k miles a year so already sitting close to 90k total mileage. its serviced according to VW scheduling, and that’s factoring in the excessive mileage it does, so annual oil changes, fluid top ups, tyres and DSG service are all done. Unfortunately because of that, I don’t know what type of oil is in the car. oil is changed at least every 12 months
  3. Hello all, I own a 2020 Skoda Superb Estate, the 2.0 150PS variant I believe. I regularly make long distance trips to Germany and cruise on the Autobahn. I’ve realised recently when travelling a high speed for prolonged periods of time (over 90mph for approx 6-7 minutes as an example but this varies in both time and speed) the car engine oil temp will rapidly reach over 110 and at approx 115-116, the car cuts power, flashes an orange coil and runs at 50% power until turned off/on again. Ive had the engine oil temp reach 128 before as well reaching speeds of 137mph. Whilst I know these aren’t sport cars, I’d expect them to be somewhat capable of high speeds on the very roads they were designed to drive on. This is massively dangerous when already driving at high speeds and slowing down rapidly due to limp mode initiating. The car is serviced to schedule every year and the coolant levels have been checked. any ideas what could be causing the issue?
