  1. Has anyone ever replaced the piston rings on a 2.0tsi, and roughly what cost?
  2. Can anyone help? I have a 2.0tsi vrs ccza which i have owned for just over two years with no issues apart from burning oil. During the summer it started to randomly misfire especially if stuck in heavy traffic, no codes stored but two dry black sparkplugs closest to timing chain side, i replaced all four plugs with NGK platinum and it would be great for just over two weeks but seemed to misfire if stuck in slow moving traffic. Then it started throwing a code for (rich fuel bank 1) I took the car to a garage who suggested removing intake manifold and checking for carbon, he removed the manifold and the valves were really dirty so he wallnut blasted them and then suggested changing the injectors while the manifold was off as it wouldn't be too expensive as i work in a motor factors. Put the car back together and i drove for just over two weeks and same thing again (rich fuel bank one) and two black plugs, he took the car back and removed both lamba sensors and couldn't clean them so replaced them with bosch ones and new plugs but same fault again. He then went down the route of fuel as he suggested the car wasn't regulating fuel/air mix so changed map sensor purge valve and a fuel sensor on the fuel rail also high pressure fuel pump and another set of plugs and a few weeks later misfire but no codes just black two black plugs. A different mechanic then suggested changing the crankshaft sensor which i did myself and the car has been driving great for a few months and has stopped burning oil? But yesterday i was in slow moving traffic and the idle started going slightly lumpy and when i went to pull away the misfire was really bad and i struggled to get the car home, removed the plugs and again two on timing chain side are pure black, dry almost like carbon. I really like the car but if this isn't sorted it'll have to go, any ideas? Also engine was compression tested due to burning oil and it was good.
