Steering wheel retrofit - three-spoke
Good stuff! I'm actually looking into that myself at the moment. It is for certain that you'll need a different airbag connecter, a highline gateway module and maybe a few other bits and pieces - I am not exactly sure. There are many threads on the forums. If you ever do figure it out, please post here as well!

Pretty straightforward - they are kind of plugged in if I remember correctly, just slowly wiggle them out. There probably will be videos of that as well. Try button fixing videos and they'll disassemble them there.

Hi Lee, Yes, it did. It is literally a five minute job.

Thank you both for your replies! I fitted the new steering wheel and moved the blank buttons over to the new wheel, as my airbag I had only 1 connector and nothing for the buttons. Very simple swap.

@Gizmo, @ApertureS, @langers2k, Apologies for tagging you here, but I've seen some of your posts on topics related to steering wheels. Maybe you'd be able to provide some valuable input regarding the above? Oh and... Merry Christmas!

Steering wheel retrofit - three-spoke
Hi Skoda enthusiasts, Although there are quite a few topics similar to this one already on the forums, please allow me to ask - my 2014 Octavia Combi currently has a 4 spoke steering wheel with no MF buttons. I have cruise control on my left stalk and control the small screen on the dash from the right stalk. I wanted to upgrade to a three-spoke steering wheel, just for the looks - I found one for a fair price, but wanted to ensure it would fit. The part number is 3V0419091L and it came off of a 2016 Skoda Superb. It also has buttons on it. I would appreciate it if you could help me clarify the following: Is it possible to move my no buttons part to the new steering wheel? (i.e. remove the buttons from the new steering wheel as I think it's a lot of trouble to set them up); If I were to keep these buttons, would I be able to connect them and these buttons light up in white or green as they're from a 2016 Superb? (If it is possible that I just connect them to have them light up with no functionality); Would my airbag fit the new steering wheel without any further modifications? And finally, do I understand correctly that everything should be plug and play and quite simple? Below you can find photos of the new steering wheel. Thank you!

Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
@pab567, thank you so much for the swift reply! To reflect on the query regarding the must haves, I do not need video playback, CD playback, OEM navigation, or OEM maps either, as I do not have the virtual cockpit. The cheapest way to obtain Carplay would be the way to go on this one. As I understand, to get Carplay, I would need: A screen, the glovebox unit and a USB port. I've read somewhere that also CP removal is required. Could you please tell me more about that? Will someone with an OBD11 be able to do it, or will I have to go to a dealer? Also, I wouldn't mind having Mirrorlink instead of Carplay either, as I think that would also allow me to display Google Maps. Would you say that'd be a cheaper route than going with Carplay? EDIT: I think I figured through the MIB website that there is no firmware update for my current setup?

Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
Hi everyone, Can anyone (maybe @pab567, who seems to be a gem on these forums) help me out with my infotainment screen on my 2014 5E Octavia? I recently bought one used and just registered on these forums, too. I'd love to firstly see if there is an update available (if so, what changes would it make to apply the update) and secondly, what would be the cheapest option to go for Apple Carplay? I wouldn't be using CD/DVD streaming, DAB, NAV or any other feature. Just Carplay and native Skoda "CAR" section and settings. Please see the photos attached. I tried to insert them in the post, but won't work - maybe because I signed up here only today. Thanks a lot!
