  1. Thank you very helpful post. I have changed front pads a few times on previous cars so have the caliper wind tool etc I did take the wheel off to check the usual stone stuck in guard etc and that's when I saw the marker pen line and figured wouldn't be from factory so someone for some reason has taken that off before I bought it at around just 6 months old so I was thinking no one would have had any reason to have done as wouldn't be needing new pads or discs that early Bloody Arnold Clark may have had me as I also had to get the front bumper resprayed after a few weeks (at their cost) so I thought it may have had a small bump previously Will continue investigating Thanks again
  2. Still having this high pitched squeel but happens when NOT breaking its when I take my foot off at lower speeds upto 35ish I hear it. I went to change front pads but are perfectly fine cars done 7k Now am thinking its the back wheel maybe but upon taking wheel off I saw the pen marks in the pic why would that be there i think it needs software to release rear brakes or something I read online so not diy? Just curious of this lining up marker? 7k 24 plate Cheers
  3. Same 1.5 mhev 24 plate model high pitch noise which i thought i must need new pads only done 7k miles took wheels off pads no way near done chunky as new took everything off re greased etc back on still same i hear it when driving around slowly sub 40mph may be there at higher but covered by road noise it doesn't sound more intense when I brake like if new pads were needed may have to check if it's actually at the rear or try work out if disk is warped as it is extremely annoying and embarrassing Thanks
  4. Hi I have a 24 plate estate 1.5 dsg and for a while had a fairly loud high pitch noise at the front similar to brake warning but it doesn't happen when braking. I'm trying to pinpoint but seems to happen when letting off accelerator or just crusing along I can't really hear on motorway but driving around town etc it's pretty annoying and now I know it's happening I can't ignore it I thought it was the brakes so bought new ones (only just hit 7k miles) but when I took wheels off brake pads were like new thickness so didn't bother I'm no mechanic so don't want to guess but is any common things that could cause it Also a tinny rattle sound near passenger side sounds like maybe heatshield but that's another day's problem Cheers
  5. Hi Bought a 2024 sel estate few weeks ago which I put ispeed wind deflectors quite early on but noticed i could hear a lot of road noise from cars on opposite side so took them off thinking it was those but it's still the same without. The window shuts fully up but if I'm sat in traffic especially if wet roads I can hear the cars on the opposite side coming up to and then pass quite noticeably as if my window or door was open a bit. The door seems 1-2mm out from the pillar wheras passenger side is flush. Can I adjust it so the door is a little tighter either moving catch plate 2mm in or adjusting something on the door I did see something near door catch that turns with a flathead but didn't want to mess ? Thanks
  6. I used it with a short 20cm micro to usbc cable no adaptors few quid online to power nextbase 522gw since buying car 6 weeks ago and was fine up until the dashcam itself breaking yesterday after about 2yrs so replaced today with a wolfbox g900 and it also powers that fine full 4k and poss more draining as is a full mirror screen with rear camera too? . I guess that usbc port turns off along with ignition so for wolfbox I have an obd hardwire kit i need to install to be able to use parking mode
