  1. Hello all Long time lurker, first time poster here. Very grateful for all the advice I’ve gleaned from here over the years so thanks everyone for that. The issue: Octavia Mk2 2011 estate petrol - the boot is stuck shut/wont unlock. I can open it from the inside with the emergency release lever, but it won’t work with the key fob. I’ve tried lubricating the lock mechanism as advised on here but this makes no difference. It makes no sound when I press the fob. I took it to the local garage and they said they can’t do anything about it because the problem is there’s no power going to the boot door / lock (the fuses are all fine they said) - they said it needs someone like an electrician! On top of this my rear wiper has gone from working every so often to not working at all. I’m presuming this is connected? I’m aware it might be the degrading of the solder on the wiper motor circuit board that could be causing it but wasn’t sure if the boot lock power and the wiper power have the same feed/wire etc. Help! Any advice would be much appreciated as I need to be able to open the boot for all the Xmas travelling coming up! Cheers, many thanks in advance
