Thanks a lot for the reply! The only reason the Crafter oil cooler idea even crossed my mind is that I happen to have one on hand. It has more fins and a larger surface area, but I was mostly curious if anyone has actually tried swapping it before or had any experience with it. Option B will definitely be a Darkside kit for me as well. I've seen their work and it's seriously impressive.

140C is actually way too high for standard engine oil. By the time it hits 140C on the dash, the oil is already thinning out dangerously, losing its lubricating properties, and you risk seriously damaging the engine. Realistically, you should start backing off much sooner—around 125-130C max.

Hi everyone! I’ve been thinking about taking my TDI RS Octavia to a track day, but I know that the stock oil cooling is a critical weak point. My question is whether there is an OEM+ solution out there, like using a Crafter oil cooler, or if I should go with an external oil cooler instead. On top of that, how plug-and-play is an external oil cooler setup?
