  1. Yeah it's not the phone—it worked fine on my previous car about a month ago, and the same thing happens with my wife's iPhone. I think it's just the way they've done things with the Android Auto implementation on the Scala. I assume the navigation instructions are being routed the same way as a phone call, and the audio is being processed as such. I think that happened on my last car, but it didn't sound as thin and tinny. The map thing I mentioned in my original post is more annoying tbh, the audio is a minor niggle.
  2. Thanks for the suggestion. The only other Bluetooth device I have connected to my phone is my watch, and it's not coming from that! I've also found that the navigation instructions sound much better (hifi quality) when I'm playing music, but I'm then prevented from controlling the volume of them separately. I really don't get how Skoda managed to mess this up so much when it works fine on SEATs.
  3. Ha! I am into YouTube but don’t get the reference I’m afraid 😅 Thanks for the welcome anyway.
  4. Hi all, I’ve been searching around but had no luck finding solutions for these issues on my MY24 Scala SE L: I’m using my Samsung Galaxy S21 for Android Auto and it works fine for the most part. When I start navigation in Waze or Google Maps, the virtual cockpit immediately switches to a view with the built-in navigation map, meaning I have to use the steering wheel buttons to shift back to the view I was using. Has anyone found a solution for this? I’ve also noticed that Waze/Google Maps navigation announcements/directions sound really thin, tinny and sometimes distorted. I think they are still coming through the entertainment system’s speakers but it’s like someone’s giving me directions over the phone! Is this anyone else’s experience? My last car was a SEAT Leon, and announcements always sounded full and clean in that car, coming through what appeared to be a dedicated centre speaker on top of the dash, which my Scala also appears to have though I’ve never heard it being used. Thanks in advance!
  5. Hi all, my name’s Matt. I’m new to Škoda, having spent the last 6 years leasing a couple of SEAT Leons (which have now gotten way too expensive!) I took delivery of a Scala SE L 1.5 manual a couple of weeks ago, and I’m really impressed! A few niggles which I’ll post about in the relevant forum, but overall I’m happy I made the jump 😀
