  1. This seems to be the consensus from multiple sources - if you don't tell the car it's a new battery, it could end up with the new battery malfunctioning or not lasting as long as it should. It might be true or it might be a myth, however I decided to code the new battery just to be safe rather than run the risk and potential cost of ruining my new battery.
  2. Also keen to know about this, I fancy sticking some of those brown L + K ones in my Yeti.
  3. Wish I'd seen this post before I did it, coil packs were way more stiff than previous cars I've had, bit like there's a vacuum in there.
  4. The NGKs worked a treat. Coil packs were a bit more stubborn than on previous motors but managed to pop them out with a bit of brute strength.
  5. I've used OBDELEVEN for this purpose, the Β£99 edition. Yes, it's a big initial outlay but a few battery changes and it's paid for itself. Also removes the faff of having to take the car to the garage for something so trivial.
  6. For future ref if anyone is looking for Nm settings
  7. Yeti 1.2 (2015) CYVB As is my ritual when I get a new (old) vehicle, I always change the plugs. I tend to always steer towards NGK plugs does anyone know if these are suitable? (one site will say suitable, another will say incompatible etc) NGK 93231 / PZKER7B8EGS Also does anyone also know the torque settings for the coil packs and the plugs themselves. TIA
  8. Thanks I'm learning on my feet atm, first car I've had with this technology. It used to bee so simple, take out battery, put new one in and drive off 🀣.
  9. They may have kept it live with leads and another battery / installed identical battery?
  10. Might have posted this in the wrong zone? Regarding using obdeleven to log the change in battery- "Here’s where the steps get different for VAG vehicles with the KWP2000 protocol and VAG models with the UDS protocol." Does anyone have a list of modules / models that use which protocol? On a 2015 Yeti 1.2 petrol would I be using KWP2000 or UDS? TIA
  11. I got a Bosch S4E08 EFB Stop/Start 096 70AH from Tanya - was way cheaper than eurocarparts price - they seem to have gone so expensive of late 😬
  12. Thanks. I will get a bit rough with the jacket and see how I get on 🀣🀣
  13. Thanks. Good point, I've never had a battery jacket on any other car and the batteries have survived relatively well. I didn't know whether these start/stop batteries were extra sensitive to the cold β„οΈπŸ€£.
  14. Hi, I've just picked up a 2015 Yeti and I think it's on its original battery. I have a couple of queries and would be grateful if anyone could help? 1.It has stop start so does the battery need 'recoding' to the car? Think I'd be going to 70ah (original is 59ah)Would an obdeleven pro allow me to do this if I need to? 2. All the EFB replacement batterys seem to be a good few mm longer than the original battery 278mm on an 096 battery so not sure the jacket is going to fit. Can I run the car without a jacket or is it essential? And anyone know where I can get a bigger jacket? Thanks in advance, just in a rush to get battery sorted as doing a long journey soon.
