  1. Hi, I would like to seek help to find the torque specs for the Engine Mount screws for my Fabia. As the tile says i have a 1,4L 16V petrol engine. Planning to change all three of the engine mounts. The only think i'm missing is the torque specs for the screws. I'll attach a drawing, and mark the mounts with red, and mark the screws with blue. And please correct me if i'm missing something, and if you have experience in changing the mounts I'm more than happy if you share. Thank you in advance.
  2. So, a big update for this topic, i have managed to fix the door problem. First of all i tested what you suggested, sadly that didn't work. (Side note the lock was fine after all you can read below, apart from a micro switch but thats another story and time to fix. ) So i managed to losen the bolts what's hold the door panel from inside, then get off the door panel just as much as i have access to the wires. In the part of the wire loom wich goes to the lock i cut the brown and purple/blue wires. Got a small transformer wich can provide 12V DC, and connected them together and the voilá the door lock released, of course you need to find the correct polarity, if i remember right the brown one is the negative and the purple/blue was the positive and dont let the 12V DC on it after opend beacuse it can damage the lock just for an impulse as it should operate normally when use the key. After that the door lock released as it gets some electricity and i was be able to open the door. After that i had access to the connector between the door and the chassis. Of course some of the wires needed repair, some of them needed to reinsulate etc. I found a small cable tie on one of the rubber's holding points from the door side, thats made the wires stretched i cut that one. Then, fixed all of the wires, including the ones wich we cut to operate the lock. Got some WD40 on the lock mechanic just in case and start to reassemble the door. The rest is history. Regarding to the microswitch, yeah that wasn'st work since i got the car, i think i need to change the lock, or at least the microswitch. But for now it's not a big deal. Sorry i forget to take pictures, anyway i got dark at the meantime. Thank you for your suggestions. Take care.
  3. Yep the flexi part was changed, and had a full service. It's nice and smooth now, at leas a BXW engine could. Thanks!
  4. A small update since i have posted, the car got a full service, oil, filters etc. I got the exhaust fixed, that made the car a bit less noisier and cannot smell the petrol inside. I decided to keep this car, so when it reaches the timing belt change interval, will change the hydraulic lifters too. Other than that i have minor issues wich i'll fix later. Thank you for your inputs.
  5. Hi, As the title says my front passenger door remain locked after i use the remote or the key hole on the driver's door. I assume that the wires snapped, because sometimes it locks sometimes not. But right now the door is stayed locked wich meas i cant work on the wires. Do you have any suggestion how can i open it? Thank you in advance!
  6. Hello Škoda owners. I’m new here, so sorry if the my topic a bit raw. As the title says i would like to have some of your much appreciated opinions and advices about the following: In February 2024 i inherited a Škoda Fabia from my Grandfather. He bought a new car so i was the lucky one to get the mentioned Škoda. He was the first owner of the car and drove it like everywhere, almost 289000 KMs on the clock. For engine manitanance point of view he changed the oil in it recently, pollen filters etc but not any big services. Also dont put much effort to cleaning it, and drove the car on dirty roads many times. After a paperwork was done i’m now a (sligtly) happy owner of a Škoda Fabia Mk2 Estate 1.4 16V. I spent hours to clean, try to get out the dirt form the engine bay, wheel arches etc. Also i went to the mechanic an ask of they can do a service check. I got a chunky list about the stuff wich needs to be serviced. (I indicated „+” what was changed recently from te list) - Tires, (I have bought new ones for the winter so thats covered) + - Rocker arm silent (also changed) + - Holes ont he flexible pipe in the exhaust system - Transmission oil change - Brakes are at 80% - big muffer change in 2 year left or at least the mechanic said that - front two sprigs 2 year left or at least the mechanic said that - Timing belt, (it have more 10000 miles left on it.) - Serpentine belt (changed) + - Fuel filter - And some minor stuff wich changed by me, like light bulbs. Since i have the car noticed that after a cold start it sounds like a tractor. It maybe casued by the hole ont he exhaust wich will be repaired soon. Also the car have a very strong i think hydro tappet sound of course after the engine warms up the noise decreases, but in during normal driving you can hear it. And i almost forget the rust, well it have that amount of rust wich a 2009 car have, but actually bad. The car’s body itself have small dents i assume form parking. Overall the car is running fine, and i’m not gonna lie but it stole a piece from my heart. But i have to make a decision and that is the part where i ask your advice, opinions. Should i spend a lot of money to it and get the stuff reapaired form the list or just fix the necessary stuff and use it as it is? To be honest i'm a new driver, and this is my first car but i think that car might deserve more than just to be a "learn to drive" car. I’m planning to use the car 5 more years. I will include video from the cold startup, and pictures about a car later. Thank you for your opinions in advance! Arnold.
