  1. Thanks to all, HowardB you have hit the spot. Shows how technically challenged i am. It dawned on me this afternoon that I never listen to music on my phone, so thought I would download a Media Player app onto the phone to test if the files I'd stored actually worked . I was in the car when the recent post from HowardB came in - and YES it does work via Bluetooth when you have a music app installed. I was getting over complicated and perhaps should have checked the fundamentals first. Perhaps I should stick to listening to the BBC Light Program, or Home Service - the simple old days (and giving my age away too) Hope the posts might help others too Thanks for all your help - everyone has been so helpful Cheers Truly a Wombat!
  2. wow - what a thorough answer. I will try to digest it and ask Laura when I next have a few moments. I have the Android Auto set up for hands free which works well. Thanks for your time
  3. Apologies for being thick (well not technical). I have been unable to get my sparkly new Octavia (Dec 24) to recognise my phone (Google Pixel 3A) as a music media source. Phone works fine for hands free via bluetooth. I've tried using USB cable to connectors in middle tray under dash. Online manual suggests I choose to use USB 1 option - but in spite of roaming around the sources on screen in the car there is no mention of USB. If I need a USB stick - does anyone know what format is acceptable to the Octavia systems. Any help appreciated by you knowledgeable bunch
