  1. Hi Folks. I have a Mk 1 Skoda Fabia, 1.2 petrol, manual, 54bhp, 2006, Classic. I have had problems with the nearside front passenger window not working from both the passenger door switch and the driver door switch. A local breaker suggested it is more likely to be the motor in the nearside passenger door. Days before I was about to purchase the window motor, I was getting an intermittent fault with the nearside passenger front door speaker, so I decided to check out the wiring loom between the A pillar and the door. I disconnected the 3 multi pin connectors to check for any breakages in the wires, then I had to answer a phone call in the house, as it was a windy day, I closed the door. After coming back out, I couldn't get the nearside front passenger door open. It seems to have self locked, even though there's no wiring connected to that door. I had to remove the front passenger seat to remove the door card. I have partially removed the carrier panel to get into the lock. With a large screwdriver holding the mechanism up and pulling the door handle simultaneously, it still won't open. Does anyone know if there's any default codes that keeps this locked when the electrical supply to the lock is cut? With the door shut, there's no way I can reconnect the multi pin connectors. Or does anyone have any other suggestions or solutions on how I can get the door unlocked again? Any advice and suggestions would be much appreciated. Many thanks, John.
  2. Hi folks. I have tried using the key several times and thumping the door, but no luck. Can anyone explain why the front passenger door of the Fabia has locked when there's no electrical connection to the door when the electrical connectors are disconnected.
  3. Hi Folks. I've got a MK1, Skoda Fabia ,07 reg, a 1.2 petrol, manual, htp, classic. I was investigating an intermittent fault with the nearside front door speaker. I disconnected the 3 separate multi plug connectors in the A frame that continue into the door panel to inspect the wires individually for damage. I had to answer a phone call in the house and closed the door so it wouldn't get caught by the wind and the door seems to have locked itself, even though the multi pin connectors are disconnected. I've tried disconnecting the battery and also tried pulling the inside handle and the pin up, but it has not worked. It seems like some sort of deadlock has engaged. What is the easiest way to rectify this to get the door open again? Many thanks, Johnny G.
  4. Hi. Thanks for your replies. At least I know what is hopefully wrong with it. I'll leave it just now, but will get it fixed when the weather gets better. The windows are closed just now, so it's not a problem. Happy New Year to you all. Many thanks, John.
  5. Hi. I have a 2007, Skoda Fabia MK1, 1.2 petrol, Classic, manual and the front electric windows have stopped working simultaneously. I have replaced all the 25 amp fuses in the fuse board at the side of the dashboard and also replaced the 25 amp fusebox that sits over the negative post of the battery, where there's 4 or 5 different fuses. But still to no avail. Does anyone have any idea what the possible cause could be? Many thanks, John.
