  1. I changed the sump myself, and i'd rather not go to a garage. Single use sump plug does sound wasteful. I suppose i would have to find a clean container for the oil so I can reuse. Thanks for the link but i think 10 is excessive and i'd rather just buy what i need. Pretty sure a standard screwdriver works on the plug also. I'm just shocked that the sump came with a leaky plug. Reckon I could go back to the supplier and get some sort of compensation or am i wasting my time?
  2. Hi guys, About 3 months ago i replaced my oil sump due to a crack. I replaced with an OEM plastic sump, new bolts and seals. The job went well, no issues or leaks. However I have recently noticed a few spots on my drive. I checked and found the sump plug to be leaking, very very slowly. about 0.3L over the three months. Problem is that these plugs come pre-installed on the sump and cannot be tightened any further. Safe to say im pretty frustrated, and wish i had gone for a metal aftermarket sump. I can't think of how i can resolve the issue without dumping 3 month old oil. Has anyone else had a similar problem? it doesnt look like a common issue. Engine code CHHB
  3. Thankyou. Yes, the 1st DSG service was carried out. I'll ask about spark plugs. Roughly how much would i be looking at for a DSG service? around £200?
  4. Hi everyone, I'm planning to look at a 2015 Skoda Octavia TFSI vRS this weekend, and I would appreciate any advice you can offer. The car has 77,000 miles on the clock, a full service history, and a pretty clean MOT history. I'm aware that the DSG service is due and hasn't been done yet. Beyond that, I'm not sure what to look out for. Are there any specific issues or common problems I should be aware of with this model and mileage? Any tips on what to inspect or questions to ask the seller would be really helpful. Thanks in advance! Matt
