Has my car been updated?
@chrisclin my device part number is now 57H035816B the same as yours, I don’t know what it was before the update. I did a quick google search which says the “B” is an updated system but nothing specific to say if it’s software or hardware related.

Has my car been updated?
@cnc thank you, the service reception staff didn’t know anything about the update - I should have insisted they find out! My dealer has multiple brands and the staff don’t know the cars like those of a Skoda only dealer. I didn’t think to check the digital certificate. Just checked and it shows an “authorised non-warranty repair” saying it was a MIB software update. Do you know what that means please? @chrisclin thank you, that’s reassuring.

Has my car been updated?
Or maybe one of you knows what new features came with the new software? Then I could check if I have them. Thanks.

Has my car been updated?
Hi folks, just got my car back after three days at the dealership getting what they called a recall software update, they had difficulty with it crashing repeatedly which is why it took so long. However, I’m not 100% sure if they got the update done, so I’m hoping you guys can confirm if I have the latest software. My car is a 2024 Facelift 1.5 TSI First Edition, the system info on the infotainment is Hardware H10 Software 2630 Display unit/control panel hardware H23 Display unit/control panel software 266 Navigation database 25.12 Radio database — Media codec 3.1.4 I feel very annoyed with myself as I didn’t make a note what it was when I took the car in. Can anyone help me with this please?

Service question
Thanks, I do think that an annual service (at least oil and filter change) is the best. I’ll just have to stomach the dealership prices until it’s out of warranty. Then it will be an independent garage and I’ll keep all the receipts.

Service question
@scotthugh3s thanks for asking about this - I was just wondering the same thing as my Octavia 1.5 TSI e-Tek is a year old next month, I bought it at 3 months old. Mine says 12k miles or 268 days until the service is due. I only do a few long journeys each year with the rest being 20-30 miles in two hops of 10 - 15 on the days it’s used which is about 3 times per week. Total miles so far is 6.7k. My dealer said to service it each year at a cost of about £300 and £500 on alternate years - this seems an excessive cost when all it needs is an oil and filter change on years 1,3,5 etc. What would the implications be if I asked a local garage to do the oil and filter - how would that affect the warranty and how would I get the details added to the digital service record? Thanks Gordon

Engine Cover
@SkOmk4 thanks very much for the information. I’m not with my car right now but I’m certain it looks exactly as your photo above - so no cover is correct it seems.

Engine Cover
OK, thanks folks, can someone please confirm that there should be an engine cover? If so I’ll chase the dealer about it - or Škoda UK if I have to.

Engine Cover
Thanks for the information. Do you know if the new covers are now available?

Engine Cover
I bought my x-demo Octavia recently and noticed the engine cover was missing. The dealer thought it might have never had one - but the little pins that the cover would clip onto are there. My suspicion is that they had robbed it for another car. Can anyone confirm if there should be one or not? Facelift 2024 1.5 TSI e-tec. Thanks.

Rattle in Infotainment area.
Can anyone offer advice on this or had a similar problem? I have recently bought my car (details in profile) and it has a rattle in the dash around the infotainment screen area. It happens when a course road surface sends a slight vibration through the car and also sometimes on B road type uneven road with a rough surface. The screen itself is firmly fixed but pushing on the trim behind it seems to give a temporary fix but the noise soon comes back. I'm not sure how to lift the trim behind the screen to investigate - has anyone done this? I could of course just take it back to the dealer to fix, but I would prefer to sort it myself if I can. Thanks in advance. Gordon.

How to find exact spec....
Yes, I get that message on the website too. I just start over from the home page and choose the car model and year to see the online manual, there is also one in the car. I sent an email two days ago to Škoda UK about this but haven’t received a reply yet.

Shelf in glovebox
I’m a new owner getting to know my car, hopefully someone can help with this. Inside the glove compartment there is a little shelf or ledge at the top, also a half circle cutout to the right of the shelf which looks designed for something to slot into. Can anyone shed some light on what this is for please? Struggling to see anything about it in the owners manual. Thanks, Gordon.

Regenerative braking
Thanks, will do - I’ll have to find it first! Yes software and map is up to date according to the online check I did a couple of days ago.

Regenerative braking
Thanks for the answers, I should say the car is in comfort mode, and there is often no traffic near so it’s not slowing for that. It also happens when I’m under the speed limit so not that. As for gradient affecting it, there is sometimes a slight slope but I’m sure it happens on a level road too.

Regenerative braking
Hello folks, can someone help with my question please. My car seems to brake by itself sometimes, the car slows much more rapidly than I expect when I ‘coast’. Then there are also lots of occasions when it slows gently (normally). I can’t see much about this in the owners manual except it mentions the 48v battery getting recharged from braking. This isn’t due to slowing for a hazard or speed limit as it seems to do it in all situations - but not every time I release the throttle. Do all cars with the e-tec engine do this? Gordon.

How to find exact spec....
Thanks for the replies folks. My digital certificate has only two pages with nothing after the service history. My car is activated in the app. I’m wondering if the data will come through in time as it’s only three days since I got the car - or if mine is a standard first edition with no extras. However, your posts suggest the standard equipment is listed as well as extras.

How to find exact spec....
I might be doing something wrong, but I can’t see anything in the MySkoda app listing the fitted options. I’m new here and have just purchased my first Škoda, a 2024 facelift First Edition hatchback. Like the OP I would like to see the complete list. I do have the original certificate of conformity which has a lot of letters and numbers in the ‘remarks’ section but I think there’re related to the emissions. On the app I can see the main specifications such as model, trim, mileage, engine and gearbox. Also there is the option to download the digital certificate - but that again has basic specification and service history. can anyone shed more light on this please? Thanks very much. Gordon
