  1. Indeed, it would appear so. I did contact Skoda via the website and customers services link. That was about as useful a pair of knitted wasp underpants.
  2. Hi, thank you for the in depth reply. It is a shame that engaging neutral does not disable the start mechanism. I like apply the handbrake, especially at night so that I am not dazzling the diver of any vehicle stopped behind me. It's not a problem with my manual Skoda, but it would appear I will have to get used to it with the DSG.
  3. It's not the end of the world, but `I find it strange that after selectinn neutral and applying the hand brake that there isn't a software interlock that allows the engine to stay stop. Afterall you should then be able to apply the footbrake to move the gear selector and that should restart the engine. I think I will contact Skoda and ask the question.
  4. Do you have a link as I am sttruggling to find anything relevant.?
  5. Hi Skomaz, we took the car out today and tried pressing the foot brake has hard as possible, then engine stopped. I then moved the gear control to N, applied the hand brake before removing my foot from the brake. Once again the engine restarted. Tried a couple of times, but got the same result.
  6. I feel you are are the impression that I have no experience of these driver aids and they are new to me. The only thing I am asking about is the stop start as my Karoq is a manual transmission and I have had no experience of the DSG. AS for everything else, I do not have a problem with them as I have most of them on my own car. The Fabia is my wife's car.
  7. I have all that on my Karoq. To be fair it hasn't given me too many problems other than the very occasional warning I am about to crash, when clearly I am not.
  8. Thank you. I shall try that. I am definitely not moving the steering wheel, but it all seems very counter intuitive that when in neutral the engine should restart with the handbrake applied. I will let you know how we get on tomorrow.
  9. I bought my wife a new Fabia Design edition with the 1.0TSI 110 bhp and 7 speed DSG. We both love the car, but there is one annoying thing for me. When sitting in long traffic queues, if I come to a halt and apply the foot brake the engine cuts out. That's fine and dandy. Then I slip it into neutral because the traffic isn't going to move for an eternity, or I don't want to dazzle the driver behind, lo and behold if I take my foot off of the brake, the engine restarts. It seems a strange set up to me that the car doesn't recognise that the hand brake has been applied. when neutral is selected. Small grumble, but am I missing something?
  10. New here so hi to all Traded in a 2017 Colour Edition 1.2 TSI 5 speed manual for this 10 day old, preregistered Design Edition, 1.0TSI 110, DSG. Lots of add ons by the dealer who was going to use it as a demo, only 47 miles on the clock. So far, so good. Sound proofing of that 3 cylinder engine is amazing and it so smooth on the road with 16" alloys it's better than my Karoq with 19" wheels on bumpy roads One question, is the 1.0 TSI reliable, the old car didn't miss a beat in almost 8 years of ownership with no faults at all.
