  1. Thank you. Hopefully. I've not had chance to drive it cos of the problems so it should clear. I've managed to get my laptop working so will plug vcds in and look at fault codes. Cheers mate
  2. Yeah thanks mate. Loads of metal. I did a flush and a light sand on the crank. Yeah I know it's not the proper way but I'm skint and don't have another car plus live on my own. Now I've replaced the turbo cos that was chat caused the oil to drop. Now it's warm cos I'm just in it now it's got thick white smoke. I take it that's from oil in the intercooler and exhaust. Plus my dpf is on and literally as I'm typing the coil light is on now. But was smoking anyway before they came on
  3. Just to update people and thanks for your input The bottom bearings aka shim had gone on cylinder 3. I've managed to replace and repair it with engine in but don't know how long it will last Thanks

  5. Thank you bud I'm going to give it a fresh oil change and flush for starters then can have a start on them problems. It's because of the ticking noise I'm worried. Also which I think is fuel pressure is once I've ran the engine without driving obviously it won't start again unless I leave it to cool down. Sometimes it will start but takes loads of cranking so it shouldn't be like that. I appreciate your help as well thanks
  6. Oh right. Yeah thanks for that. It's burning my head out what's causing the misfire. I hope it's something simple. Obviously now me seeing very small metal particles in the oil filter has got me thinking conrod bearings but originally I thought Hpfp or injectors
  7. Thanks mate. Only thing I can think is cos the piston isnt timing at the right time cos of the play in the conrod and hence the misfiring. I hope I can get away with replacing the shims aka bearings or it means a crankshaft skim and I cba doing that so will scrap it. The metal could be just something else. Will obviously find out when I remove the sump
  8. It's not a good time of year is it for this hassle 😂 Well I think the mechanic might be right. I've taken out the oil filter and found metal in the bottom of the filter case. So looks like a conrod bearing. Will take off the sump one day this week if I can get a dry day to roll around the floor on haha
  9. Thanks mate. Will have a look. Just working in the cold and rain for the last 2 weeks is getting very tiring and then I get fed up. I love the car so don't want to scrap it as well.
  10. I've just had a thought. Maybe the head gasket has gone between the cylinders to cause the misfiring and tapping sound
  11. Exactly mate. I was pretty much convinced it's a fuel problem. Then he came over and said that.. It's very loud though the noise
  12. Been kinda told I need new crankshaft bearing It's a ceg engine 2009 vrs Does anyone know what size they are cos I've found 2 types It's basically ticking very loud from when I start it and get louder and faster with revs. Plus major misfire ect. Or could it be fuel pump Got 2x bad reads from injectors 2 and 3.
