  1. Just an update. I went back to the convenience module (j519) and pin had a wire in it. I temporally connected up a temp sensor and redid the scan and all was well. Also all my problems with tpms, parking sensors and others are all fixed now. The hard part was running a wire from the cabin through to the front of the car. Several hours later and all it well. So, in summary, it must have had an air sensor, but for the life of me I cannot see where it's been ripped off from and even with careful inspection of the loom at the front of the car. Also, the g17 air sensor as I have read, has a lot to do with other components like tpms.
  2. Been researching tonight and it definitely should have a g17. Went out and checked the old slam panel and there is a bracket that's been bent up and I didn't see it. So I can only assume it has been ripped from the wiring loom. Annoying as I have put it all back together now, but I will examine the loom in more detail to see if I can find whem it's been detached from. Failing that, I will run 2 wires back to the source. Vcds scan said g17 was signal too high, which can also mean not there I also read. I have another g17 and connextor from the replacement slam panel, so I have one.
  3. Hey all, I am repairing a 5e i purchased damaged for the Mrs. Not massive, but it needs a bumper, headlight and radiators. Most of the lower part of the bumper is missing and hense the damage to the radiators as i think it went offroad by the looks of the twigs and grass im finding. The issue i have, is that the radiator fans are on full and a scan shows g17 air temp sender signal too high. On most VAG cars that i know, its a small sensor located in the lower slam panel. On the remains i have, there is no such location and also no wiring i can find and i have had the whole front off. My car does it seem to have cruise assist, there is 6 bare wires that look canbus and ground, but no device. There is also a mounting plate for it. I dont intend to replace this, i dont need it and i will try to code it out. However, any idea where the air temp sender is located ? Thanks all
  4. Hey all. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am a self confessed VAG fan. We have in the family 3 Audi's and two Skoda's. Unfortinately there is also a BMW but we wont speak of that. I live in Kent with my family and i work in Tech. These days when someone ask whats i do, i tend to say an Engineer. As i have gotten older (just a tad over 50), i have enjoyed all thinks mechanical. I have a well equiped garage with a lift and enjoy fixing stuff. I also seems to have developed a bit of a tool fetish like my late father :) My latest car, a Skoda Octovia 5e i have purchased from an auction which i have used quite a few times and i am fixing it up for my wifes work car to replace a rather tired Zafira. I have come here as i have some specific questions to ask.
