  1. Soaked it in plusgas for a couple of days, got it up to temp and it came out with no fuss at all thankfully! So all sorted.
  2. I'm just about to do mine, and this looks like like the Valeo one, as the clamps are right on the edge of the heater matrix. Whereas the Denso has protruding pipes which then clamp onto the internal pipework
  3. I have the dreaded no hot air on the drivers side of my car, spoke to local Skoda independent specialist, who said there was a proper kit for flushing out the matrix, for the sum of £1200, and if I just replace the matrix without that, then it might block again. But being that you can get a matrix for about £100, I could replace it 10 times and it'd still be cheaper, so looking at doing that. Seems simple enough, I'm not going to flush the system, just remove the matrix from the footwell. Looks like I have a Denso heater, and I've found this, which looks worth a try: https://thecarheatershop.co.uk/shop/skoda-octavia-heater-matrix-2013-onwards-denso-replacement/ I removed the silica bag when I first got the car 4 years ago, garage told me it's probably blocked by casting sand. If anyone has done the same and has any tips before I get going on it, would be appreciated!
  4. Good point! Looks like it's a job for Monday so will see how it goes, also have to replace the heater matrix 🤦‍♂️
  5. Going to attempt this myself this week, codes show that plug 4 is throwing an error. I have a low torque wrench, so figure it should be safe enough. Plan is to squirt some plus gas in, then let the engine warm up while I drive over to ECP to collect the glowplug. Then hopefully it'll be easy enough. NGK plugs say they don't need any anti seize compound, so in theory it should be as simple as: Unscrew old plug Clean internal threads with wire brush Hand tighten new plug Torque to spec Right?
  6. That would be much appreciated! I'll get the coffees though I've emailed the garage that serviced it in the first instance in case they do know what's up, but I have a feeling they'll just say it's coincidence even if it's not 😂
  7. I have a MK3 Octavia scout, rear camera and parking sensors. I had it in for a service last week including DSG service. First time I've reversed since was this weekend, and as soon as I put it in reverse the camera comes on as normal but then I get a popup saying "manoeuvre braking unavailable", then "park Pilot Error" and the camera turns off. Resetting the info unit makes it work until something triggers a rear sensor, in which case it happens again. I'm assuming it's just coincidence that it's happend just after a service, but was wondering if there's something I can try before taking it to a garage? Google said that there might be a reset button on the park Pilot module? Any advice on where to start troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated
