  1. Yeah lol, doing so many things at the side time!
  2. Found the pipe, it lies under the rear air intake pipe and directly under the plastic EGR valve from there goes across the back of the engine to the metal part of the EGR.
  3. Hi All, Since Thursday I've had a problem of the engine making a "shhhhh" sound like a air leak, so checked all the boost pipes etc no leak found, the noise carried on to get louder. Friday I booked the car to go into my mates garage for Tuesday . Sunday the sound turned into a "shhhh" + a slight whistle. Monday set off to work and the car turn into a tractor with about 20BHP lol Tuesday took car into a local garage who do my servicing. Tuesday afternoon problem found: http://crygamer.com/IMG_2674.JPG http://crygamer.com/IMG_2675.JPG http://http://crygamer.com/IMG_2677.JPG Between them two pieces there is meant to be a straight peice of pipe, that has blasted off with quite a clean cut! I'm not sure how much pipe there is meant to be between but still must take some force. Total cost: £139 with fitting, Dealer part only. When the garage ordered the part Skoda sent the wrong one, so another had to be ordered. The dealer said they are known to blow? First I have heard about it tbh anyone else seen anything like it? The pipe has somthing to do with either the EGR, Manifold or turbo not sure which bit connects where though. Regards Steve
  4. Yeah, the eyebrows make it look abit dopey but overall brill.
  5. Very nice as always! I could do with doing this on my car sometime, plenty of nasty scratches on the black paint :(
  6. I phoned ExhaustsUK today and I must have missed heard them before as I asked what size bore he would use and he said 2" 1/4 or 2" 1/2.
  7. That would work, or you could do the following; Remove the airbox Put a mushroom filter in, connected to the MAF by a straight pipe. Make a ducting from the grill opening to point the cold air to the filter Enclose the mushroom filter in so no hot air is sucked in from around the engine bay. But back to the question in hand by the Original Poster, I would personally put in a pipercross filter, I told my insurance about it and they didn't charge.
  8. So that K&N typhoon is crap? As all it would do is take in hot air from the engine bay correct?
  9. Hi, Sorry to hijack, 69-9756TFK - K&N 69 Series Typhoon Kits, Performance Intake Kit < Would that make use of Octavia's air intake hole? Having the box around it get rid of most of the hot air from been sucked in, and that "flap" looks as though it would connect to Octavia's intake hole. But looking at the design of it wouldnt it take hotair from the back as the front is blocked off? Regards Steve
  10. Yes, but the Octavia 1.9 Miltek exhausts are made for the Mk1 not the Mk2.
  11. Thanks Sarah! Cant wait to hear from you!
  12. Just spoken to JBS and they quoted around £550 fitted for Downpipe and catback 2.5". Just asked Sarah at Awsome for a quote as they are doing free fitting etc, main problem is there isn't a kit out for the Octavia PD105 so they will have to experiment with my car :s
  13. Hi All, What size bore would you recommend for a catback system for a Octavia Mk2 105PD. I went to exhaustsUK and they quoted £285 for one and it would be a stright pipe from the cat to the new backbox. If I remeber correctly he suggested either a 3" or 3.5" bore, but most prebuilt kits like miltek seem to have 2.5", the last thing I want is the loose power. The car has a panel filter and is remapped. What are your suggestions and recommendations? Regards Steve
  14. For me to insure a 1.8T or a 2.0TFSI it would cost me alot more than my current 1.9 TDI, a 1.6 petrol costs around £1500 to insure at 19 for me :( EDIT: At the moment im pulling 60mpg on motorways and mid to high 40s around town. I get all my money back anyway through the business at 40p per mile.
  15. I guess you whipped them up fj1200a? I was too slow :(
  16. I always make sure it is warmed up before stopping the engine Dont fancy a petrol engine when im doing over 1000 Miles a month :P Steve
  17. Ye mine takes a while to heat up in my 1.9TDI. I don't like stopping the engine when I arrive at my destination and the car hasn't warmed up to normal temp, bad for the engine :(
  18. Any difference in the estate and hatchback Vrs springs due to the extra load? Regards Steve
  19. Strange you should say that, mine did the exact same thing! I was loosing coolant, went into dealer 2-3 times, EGR valve replaced, 2 days later turbo propeller shot down exhaust, taking the Intercooler, CAT and Exhaust. Everything was replaced under warrenty except everything after the CAT due to Skoda HQ saying "Thats wear and tear" so they burned the oil off which was left in the exhaust. EDIT: Didn't realize this topic is over a year old!
  20. Here's a pictures they will explain better;
  21. Hi All, My N/S wing mirrior casing has smashed due to someone forcing me too far over! :( Main problem is the indicator light and the really useful beam light which lights side of the car up is reflecting all over the place. Skoda garage quoted £160 for a new one been painted etc which imo is abit much for just a wing mirrior. So I am wondering if any of the aftermarket ones are any good? I see alot about the M3 and M6? Also does anyone have any pictures of aftermarket wing mirriors on a octy 2? Id like the "beam" light if possible too as that is very helpful in the dark. Regards Steve
  22. nice one, thanks for quick reply! I will be calling tomorrow that's saved me £200!
  23. Hi All, Does anyone know if the suspension is covered by Skoda Warranty? just had mine in for a service and both rear springs are screwed. I'll be calling them tomoz but just thought someone may have a quick answer. Regards STeve
