I have a 2023 superb estate and for the first 18m and 25k miles there was no problem with the wipers, then for no apparent reason they would activate with the wiper stalk in the OFF position, just the one wipe, then nothing for a while then one more wipe.
Each time the screen was clear, no rain, happened day or night, the infotainment screen was set to "auto wipe" so should be activated by the rain sensor but only when the wiper stalk is in the "auto wipe" position, that is my understanding.
Took the car to the Skoda dealership as it's half way through its warranty and the mechanic stated that because the "auto wipe" function was selected the wipers would go off even when the wiper stalk is in the OFF position, I find that hard to believe.
Took the car to another Skoda dealership and was told that direct sunlight would set off the wipers, anyone had any experience of this happening to them, I just feel I am being fobbed off by Skoda trained mechanics.
Nothing in the drivers manual about this.
Other than this issue the car is great.
