  1. well its your choice entirely!! i lost 7bhp when running 195bhp due to 'heat soak' on my second run on a rolling road! you will decrease your crashbars strength but increase the air flow and you chances of dying live on the edge i say
  2. you got a claim in for the back?? passenger in my car got 6k for whiplash
  3. Spools up miles quicker, around 1,500 rpm you get a slight inclination the turbo's actually working, previously it was a real pain to drive at low revs, you had nothing until over 2k then it snapped your neck off! Now its a gem to drive, not much lag, map is miles more progressive over the entire range, holds the power a lot longer, by another 500 revs i recon, and now i actually have a rev limiter of around 5k rpm! Hard to tell the power increase but i shall have to rr it again, possibly hard to tell the increase as the old map was so violent when it kicked in and this one is more progressive the existing map according to richard washbrook was a shambles, a copy and paste job of the old star car, or what they could copy, boost was set to 1.8 bar but no other parameters changed, torque was standard!! now it actually smokes less! will post rr when i get it done
  4. Erm there aftermarket, i think theyre called ace 100's they were originally chrome but then repainted silver
  5. Got it remapped richard washbrook did it via email!! He had a look at the old map was a copy and paste job of the old 210bhp map!! Not all of it wa copied just the bits they could, boost was at 1.8bar but no other parameters had been changed, torque was untouched from standard now its has a 220/230 bhp map with just over 300 lb/ft torque with egr delete, i custom chose bhp and horsepower no just have to whack it on the dyno
  6. They are oem xenon's optional extra when new around 1k i believe, auto levelling, headlight wash and 5l washer bottle
  7. Gaz_vrs has done it with a picture thread! I dont have any pics atm but im only using the bottom forge pipes my top pipes were fine, he's using all the ibiza pipework! The quality of the forge pipes is really good
  8. Bargain so you can have the biggest fmic an pipework for a shade over 500 quid!! Bargain
  9. Two standard side intercoolers would be hopeless! Twice the shoddy oem pipework and twice the run on the boost pipes!! What you want is a seat sport fmic from a mk 4 ibiza! 350 from seat its the biggest you can fit to a fabia then you want forge boost pipes from a pd130 ibiza :8 for 250 then ur laughing bigger and cheaper than forge
  10. There or there abouts skudmissile got 226 bhp and tspark has 226 aswell! Theres a lad i know with a pd150 hybrid on a golf with 225, the standard 150 turbo can even reach 210bhp! I think jabbasports old fabia made 247bhp with a 150 hybrid
  11. No i know whats on it i was playing dumb trying to get him to offer to have a look at it and maybe check the map on it and i would have possibly have stuck some star performance stickers back on it to advertise mods are pd 150 hybrid turbo seat sport strut brace seat sport fmic brembo 323 gt kit miltek celi 100 sports cat and miltek system bmc cda induction kit sachs clutch ive since added forge fmic pipes stainless top boost hose 60mm egr delete
  12. oh and to those who are interested!! my email to jim Hello Jim i have recently purchased a Skoda Fabia vRS, which i believe containes the running gear from your old Star Performance Fabia seen at the likes of Knockhill etc reg number SF04 EEC? I believe a young chap from Carlisle purchased the car from youselfs some 3 years ago now but unfortunately had a rear shunt in it about 2 years ago. At this point the modifications were swapped onto my Fabia which is also yellow but an 05 plate. Im looking to authenticate the parts originally fitted by yourselfs is it possible to provide me with a spec sheet or any information you may have? Also do you still have on file any ecu data? Thanks, Jason, we did not keep records of this car & it used a software upgrade for track use only & not road use. Jim.
  13. nah ive sent an email to Jim, he basically fobbed me off! said he had no ecu data for it and it was a track only map! and ive spoke to dave massey who has the old star map on file, so he did me a discount as he just needs to tweak it BUT i shall do some digging tomorrow and get the info from the horses mouth!!
  14. If i had a single mass flywheel i would, but im running the standard dmf so im keeping toque low just after bhp :8
  15. Because the map was turned down / de-tuned by the previous owner, with the hardware the car has it can run higher power, a remap should get it running to its full potential
  16. Cant wait contactd richard washbrook and im upping my current 195 bhp remap to 230 bhp on thursday i cant wait!! Will i notice the diffenece? Also got my forge pipes for my seat sport fmic fittd tnyt
  17. yes possibly its probably more noticeable with the pd150 with hybrid internals like us with the later spool up and more lag
  18. now i cant see it :( it was fine the first time round for me and i use photobucket too!!
  19. i can see it, pic isnt very clear but i can definitely see that buffing out
  20. yes as above, sort it or DIE your choice!! did you fit the TT hoses (longer) when you fitted the 312's?? could be your issue
  21. lad i know has a mapped fabia vrs, standard turbo standard intercooler!! was going fine until he fitted a decat and straight through! now he gets one run then it goes into limp mode, im guessing the ecu is sensing an overboost next im thinking BANG!!
  22. yes brakes seem okay? they are brembo 323's though :L its just weird its like no turbo at all for the first say 30 seconds, then you can feel it begin to wake up!! say i change at 1st to second, rpm at 2k then put my foot down just to get going a tiny bit there will be nothing, then second attempt it will start to free up! then it starts to go what could cause a vacuum fault? and what is a vacuum fault? thanks
