  1. The problem is that the quality of output from CDs (and SD cards) is poor - sounds tinny and no bass unless it's turned up. Not all CDs as bad as others. However, the radio sounds fine and music via bluetooth also - I'm not even sure of the unit is faulty. I was thinking of buying a cheap one to swap out to see if it made any difference. I think it's going to be too much just to eliminate which component is the issue.
  2. So would removing component protection be done on both the multimedia player and the main unit, so either of them could be changed and still work with the other?
  3. I'm not actually looking to upgrade the unit - just to swap like for like. Can I do that without a code?
  4. I want to replace the MIB1 multimedia player (i.e. the bit in the glovebox) on my mk3 Octavia - is this coded to the car? All the replacements I have seen seem to have a serial number starting S7E, but elsewhere on the internet it suggest that it should start SK7.
