Hi all! Since my front brakes are soon to be changed, lip on the disc is getting quite significant now and pads are wearing down now, I thought about upgrades, I've got a pretty bog standard 1.4 estate and was wondering if the vRs front calipers and discs would fit? 15 inch wheels might make clearance tight but I wonder could anyone tell me if they'd just bolt directly on or if I would need te knuckles etc from a vRs too? Thanks!

Hi all, my fabia is experiencing gear chatter in 5th gear under load at around 2500+ RPM, while I will try topping up gear oil I fear this is the end for this box! I called a dealership and they told me that my gearbox code is JHQ which seem to be hard to come by! Are there any gearboxes that are easentialy the same as some say the LVE and other 02T coded boxes should work! Bonus points if anyone can point me to a decent breaker to source from! Thanks!!

Hi all, after replacing my headlamps with refurbished units after deciding the light output was terrible (it made a huge difference having the refurb units), unfortunately the drivers side level motor appears to be completely dead, I have removed the unit again and all the covers and can see the motor but cannot find any way to access it, is it actually possible to replace these motors or do I have to buy Another headlamp unit? For reference its a 2008 combi model with the single H7 projector headlamp Thanks!

Yeah ill look into an alignment, I'm currently running Osram nightbreaker lasers in the headlights and its certainly better but the same bulbs(albeit H4) in my old fiesta were like a second sun! I'm noticing a bit of a haze on thr projector lens itself so I may try replacing the units worst case. Everything else about this car has been lovely except for the headlamps to the point I'm going to fit auxillary lighting down the line to help with the extra dark roads

Hi all, my headlamps seem to be quite weak (even with upgraded halogens etc fitted), they are the bi-halogen with a single H7, they're not cloudy or damaged as far as I can tell but they just seem to really not put out a fantastic degree of light. Is there anything that could cause that or are these particular headlights just a bit weak. I'm aware I can't really transplant the facelift headlamps or even the pre facelift H4 type without extensive work. Thanks!

Hey guys sorry I've not been back i ordered what appears to be the correct part on ebay so just waiting for it to show up. Looks like it doesn't have that sealing foam stuff on it so ill probably use a bead of black silicone. Pretty sure I've got RTV laying around that will do the job! Just in case this is wrong I don't suppose you have a link to the one your purchased alasdair? Luckily my car doesn't care about blown bulbs. Not sure why but I guess its a 2008 maybe they hadn't implemented that yet!

Hi all, my high level 3rd brake light on my 2008 estate is failing, I've lost a few of thE LEDs and the lens is damaged. Can anyone point me to a reliable replacement or have one for sale as i have now ordered 2 from ebay that claim to be correct but have arrived and are either completely incorrect or otherwise faulty! Hi all! Information I've found seems to be limited so posting here. I would like to replace the steering wheel in my 2008 fabia estate (5J) as its a bit tatty and worn out. As much as I'm happy to simply fit the standard wheel again id likento fit the multifunction wheel if possible. I have an aftermarket head unit that can be programmed with the controls too. Does anyone know if it would be a simple "plug and play" type of deal, maybe one from facelift would work? Or even a different Skoda vehicle? Thanks!!

Hi all, i recently ordered a set of front foglights(just some aftermarket ones) that came with trims, bulbs and a loom to make them work. Only thing they didn't provide were the screws for mounting them. luckily I have the mounting locations there but I need to screws. Could someone possibly tell me what the specs of the screws are? Hi all! Was wondering if I could change the headlamp unit in my 2008 estate as I have the type with single projector (Bi-halogen H7 type) however I think id prefer to have the type with a projector and separate reflector for the high beam, would it be possible for someone to help me with what they're actually called and more importantly if it'll even work or fit? I'm hoping the connections are all thr same and that its a simple swap job as I would prefer to gave a separate lamp for low and high beam! Thanks!

Nice one mate, ill order switches for both sides then as it seems like that's the issue here, I've had thr drivers side apart and cleaned it but sadly to no real benefit so looks like it'll be new switches. From what I found it seems to be somewhat of a common fault

Hi all, my window switches i believe are acting up, I have front electric windows only, however the windows only roll down if I "full" press the switch, "half" press or first click does nothing, however the half press to bring them up works fine. The passenger side window also seems to not always go down from the drivers side and stutters from time to time going up from the switch on the passenger side. Does anyone know what this is? I'm hoping not the window regulator. And is the "half" press issue I've described normal or is there a fault in the switch? Thanks!

I don't find myself typically moving at 60mph down those roads at night regardless, or even during the day if it isn't suitable. the extra visibility that would be granted would certainly be welcome especially once the nights start drawing back in later in the year just to help cut through the darkness a bit more, seems to be a bit of a controversial subject here, eh?

What an incredibly helpful thing to say (!) I'm not rocketing down these roads anyway but its nice to have extra visibility. Not sure why you felt the need to come in and say that?

Do you know of any guides for this kind of work? I would be fine if the high beam were a separate circuit, such as a single H4 or twin H7 but due to the way these lights are on these cars I'm a little unsure of how to do it. I'm only really after the auxiliary lights because the roads round me get VERY dark and even with decent bulbs or even LEDs in the headlamp unit they just sometimes don't cut through the dark enough. Thanks!

May be worth a look when I've got a minute to pull the front off, I've removed the grilles and such and had a look that way and couldn't see anything but I may have one last look just in case, general consensus seems to be that the looks won't be there but you never know!

Hi all, anyone here could advise me as I'd like to fit some additional spotlights to my fabia, something mounted in the grille perhaps however as these cars use the single H7 qith the shutter for the high beam I suspect it isn't quite as simple as just piggybacking the high beam? If anyone has done this kind of thing could tell me if its feasible or if there's an alternative way to do it? I'd like them to be bound to the high beam as its then just easy on and off operation down dark roads. Thanks!

Thats not a bad shout actually, could wire them up the the full beam? Got a mate with a mini that did that with some LED units and f- Me are they bright!!! Considered putting some on my Fabia if I could find a good spot to mount them

Thats the route I was thinking of going with this to be honest.. might see if I can work out a way to actually run it from the standard light switches though! Would be nice to have them!
