Not sure I even know where to start tbh... I bought a 2013 Fabia 1.2 HTP 51kW summer last year. It ran really well for about a month... Since then it's been nothing but a money eating pit. When I first bought it, it had 160k kms on the clock (although I trust it's been tampered with). Since the purchase I went 7500 kms and put 20 liters of oil in it averaging 1L of oil per 300 kms or so. I know 1.2 HTP engines are prone to burning oil more than other cars, especially being a 3cyl engines, but 20L is just abysmal... I was quoted a 700 euro engine repair which includes changing piston rings, timing chain, valves (and the rubber thingies on valves I guess) and work on engine block. I know nothing about this so apologies if I'm using improper terms to start with. I was also told I should be changing the catalytic converter and lambda sensor. My check engine light is constantly on because of these 2 things apparently and this would cost an additional 200 euro to replace. Then there the issue of ESP light coming on occasionally and out of the blue while driving (as shown in the random screenshot I found online, but that's the light). I did not turn off the ESP manually, and as I mentioned it turns on randomly, usually while I'm driving very slow and with my foot semi on the clutch in heavy traffic. Turning the car off and on again makes it go away. The ABS light does not come on and never has. Then there's an issue of the back right wheel locking up when the car has been stationary, usually overnight or being parked for several hours somewhere. Unsure if this is handbrake related or not. So my question I guess is, is it even worth going through all of these repairs, or should I just dump the car (sell it)? And another question, I would want another Mk2 Fabia, preferably later model (2013-2014) so if I shouldn't be trying to save this one, which one is worth buying and owning? Thanks in advance for any advice here.
