  1. There are two screens for these cars, the early ones had the rubber encapsualtion, but Skoda superseeded the part later to one without a rubber encapsulation. So if you ever order a dealer part you will always get a part without the encapsualtion regardless of the cars VIN. So NO windscreen company can get you the same screen you have UNLESS you get an aftermarket one. You also have to remember that the insurance company is the one paying for the screen to be replaced on your car, so it is up to them which screen is fitted. Autoglass are able to fit an OEM screen but working to the letter MUST charge you the difference in price between the OEM and the aftermarket part. The insurance compant knows exactly how much that difference is, and will only pay the price thay have been given. The aftermarket OES screens are the same as the OES just made in different factories. Put it this way I've worked in automotive glazing for nearly 16 years and I'm more than happy with the OES part in my car. Edit to add, the OES part is actually better than the OEM part as the OEM part was hidiously distorted.
  2. In most cases the sensor will be transfered from old to new screen. The soft gel surface can sometimes get damaged removing it from the old screen, in which case it would need replacing.
  3. The screens are different. The standard screen has just a small round fixing for the rear view mirror, the rain sensor screens have a square fixing for the rain/light sensor which also acts as the mount for the rear view mirror. Standard green screen - 1Z0.845.011BB Green with sensor - 1Z0.845.011AP There are also variations on the theme, Standard green screens with grey top tints, top tints also on the sensor screens, and then the solar coated screens with and without sensors. I have part numbers for 8 different screens. Guess what trade I'm in
  4. Llooks like their getting new barriers now though.
  5. Absolutely If you can see the car in fronts tail lights whilst driving in a que of traffic, what makes you think the person behind can't see yours? TURN THEM OFF WHEN A CAR IS CLOSE BEHIND
  6. Looks like the safety car at the ring is an Octavia
  7. Nice work chap. If you struggling for space for the main control box, there is a good sized cavity under the ash tray. Remove the inner part of the ash tray and there are two screws by the gear lever cover, remove these and the whole lot slides out. Thats where I put mine anyway.
  8. I have a mate who is top notch at all this lark (I'm not too shabby myself actually) His username is Matt on detailingworld. I can PM you his details if you like.
  9. If it's working through the switches but not through the remote then the mech doesn't appear to be the problem:confused: possibly just a signal glitch?? Maybe just try a hard reset (disconnect the battery for 15mins or so)
  10. All the mods are listed in the sale. As Syd says, it's a sport model with upgrades fitted, yes some insurance companies won't touch it as it's modified, but the buyer knows it's a modified car.
  11. I've seen it in the flesh when my Octavia was in for service, and can confirm it does look very good.
  12. TV Theme Music and Songs - TelevisionTunes.com This should help with the friday drag of time
  13. Mine first service pinged up at 19100 miles. Higher than I was expecting as much of my driving is on A roads, but it all worked out fine. It'll be interesting to see how far away the second one will be.
  14. Mines on a Brodit holder above and slightly to the right of the radio. Not the greatest photo, but you can see where it is. I keep intending to tidy the cable a little and move it to the centre, but just never get around to it
  15. Motr, this one. Halfords Double Concentrate Meadow Screen Wash 1L from Halfords Price
