  1. You should check the plastic engine cover. The earlier ones had a bad design and came off.
  2. I think it looks allot better with a glossy black rather than with a matt one.
  3. The PD VRS needs 4.2 liters of oil. If it didn't had a DPF (as the BKD engine for example) it would need 3.8 l.
  4. Try geting the engine code. The PD unit is BMN and the CR unit is CEGA.
  5. It may be the tyres if they are 195/65/15 "no name" that maybe can't get all the power down so the ASR intrudes.
  6. Does this happen on dry roads or only in the wet when trying to launch the car?
  7. Sorry for confusing the two . You're right BKP is the piezo engine in the Passat.
  8. How would a catch can work on a diesel? Does the turbo need the oil vapors coming from the air intake to work properly?
  9. All the injectors from the the 2.0 TDI PD engines that use piezoelectric Siemens injectors and Siemens ECU's are afected by this problem. The 2.0 TDI PD engines that use Bosch solenoid injectors and the newer commonrail engines are not afected by the problem. As far as i know Skoda used the piezoelectric system only on Octavia VRS 2.0 TDI (BMN) form the year 2006 to the introduction of the commonrail 2.0 TDI engine (CEGA) in 2009 The most problems were on the Passat BKD 2.0 TDI 140HP engines. There are allot of cases where the owners changed all of them before the cars reached 100.000 miles.
  10. Here is a list of failed injectors from a Romanian VW forum (page 53): http://vwforum.vwforum.ro/topic/52745-injectoare-pd-20tdi-distruse/page__view__findpost__p__1542418 As you can imagine there are lists like this on all the VAG forums concerning the 2.0 TDI Siemens injectors.
  11. I think that's a very good idea. After reading all the bad experiences that people are having with the Siemens injectors i'm a bit scared of taking long drives with my car.
  12. All of the PD TDI VRS cars have Siemens piezoelectric injectors beginig from the year 2005 to 2009. The most failed ones come from the cars produced from 2005 to the end of 2007. However there have been cases on the newer cars too. Begining with 2008 they seem to have changed something in the ECU information in order not to shut down the engine when an inhector goes out. This way you could drive in 3 injectors until you can get to a service. Before they did this if an injector went bad the engine died completly. Imagine this happening while overtaking...
