  1. I have these fitted and they were better than stock bulbs but are still pretty rubbish in camparison to my mk4 golf headlights.
  2. what are the advantages of the n75j valve over the stock n75 unit?
  3. Wouldnt bother with that tbh, mr plod deosnt seem to ever check/care about hid headlights. I had aftermarket hid kit on my mk4 golf for the 8 months of owning it and didnt get questioned once about it. Its a shame there isnt a company which do aftermarket projector headlamps like they do for the mk4 golf etc.
  4. Just wanted to re-introduce myself as its been a very long time since me being on here. I previosly had a tdi octavia but upgraded to a mk1 VRS. I beileve it used to own to someone on here as it had the briskoda.net sticker on the bonnet. reg was cv52mzy Anyone reconise it? Ive done a fair bit to it since owning it. Replaced all coil packs Temp sender Renewed coolent with g12+ Stage 1 Remap by swict (south west in-car tech) (225bhp fwp) Forge 007p Recirculating dv Greenstuff brake pads all round W8 light mod Scorpian cat back exhaust system Had vrs alloys refurbed in anthrice colour Pipercross panel filter Did have cupra r front splitter fitted but ended up ripping it off the first day :( few pics. Thanks everyone and once again, Hello again
  5. Hi all, havnt been on here for a while now. Now a proud owner of a mk1 VRS. Have had the car about 6 months. Anyways i am after fitting some upgrade headlights such as aftermarket units which allow use of hid's. I find the stock halogen lights very poor, i have fitted uprated phillips bulbs but there still not very good. Can't find any oem projector units which were fitted to some of the mk1 models. Can anyone please give me some help on this issue? Thanks
  6. i would agree mate but the octavia seems to handle very well standard, unlike the mk4 golf gti, handles like a sack of spuds. Also the vrs brakes are very good stock as theyve got the bigger brakes on again compared to the golf gti, mines running green stuff pads aswell, not sure views on these. Brakes seems very responsive though.
  7. what the forge tip mate? ive been told that a forge diverter valve is worth getting :S deos this give any hbp ? thanks
  8. oh ok, thanks. Are the wiper arms the same? i thourght they would have been slightly different due to the octavia windscreen being that bit bigger ( I think) Also whats the best spec oil to use in the 1.8t lump?
  9. I did this mod on my previos car which was a mk4 golf gti, i used a dremal, took me about 2 hours to do both sections of the aribox. I noticed a slight difference but again will probs notice bigger improvment in higher performance car, my golf gti was slooooow so didnt really help much tbh. Might try it on the octavia though
  10. Hey everyone, recently got myself a vrs which im veryy happy with. Basically a couple of questions 1: Thinking of getting a remap done by r-tech, is it advisable to get a set of silicone hoses before this to stop any bursting pipe problems? 2: After some aero wipers for it, on my golf you could buy the new arms and genuine vw aero blades which looked alot smarter than these retro fit blades off ebay. Can you do the same for the octavia? any parts numbers Many thanks people.
  11. Thanks all, good to be back. Just got to wait 2 weeks till i can pick up car :rotz:
  12. Hello everyone, well im back after a good year or so. Ive owned a mk4 golf gti for the last year but have recently got myself another octavia. I believe its someones off here as its got the stickers on. Its red mk1 octacvia VRS. 52 plate. Has the stock alloys done in black, has a full blueflame exhaust system. Anyway, its good to be back as i prefer the octavia to the golf.
  13. phoned up TPS parts today, £27 for a washer pod!!, and then have to get it sprayed. Am really thinking about getting rid of the skoda now, as when any thing geos wrong with it, which seems fairly often, its expensive to fix. Think i may be going down the Land rover route soon lol
  14. ok, thanks. any idea on rough price of new washer pods??
  15. I am confused about the headlamp washers on my tdi elegance, after a bmw jumped out in front of me  it snapped off one of the headlamp washers, do these clip on the bumper or is it all one part  Thanks
