Boot open/lock mechanism has 2 switches... one for logic(maxidot,alarm,etc..), and other one for boot lights(this one is faulty). You have to change it...there is no way to open it or repair. I have same problem for almost 2 years now :-) I forgot a PN

Elegance 08/2008 1Z5...last batch before FL :-) I saw the wire right away in the black(bigger one) conector of steering controler. took me about an hour...easy job. biggest problem for me was torx M12 for steering wheel...bought one this morning in local store. Wiper motor??? It has nothing to do with this. please see attach K

Looking to this link, try to exchange wires between pin7 and pin4 of conector "A" then try to measure draining current with ignition on and then off...if drain stops and you not loosing memorized stations when ignition is off....it's OK
