2004 Skoda Octavia L&K Estate diesel 1998cc 130bhp
I think I might have managed a wheel spin on the odd occasion pulling out from a junction but certainly never in second. I suspect it's just more powerful/torquey than what he previously had.

2004 Skoda Octavia L&K Estate diesel 1998cc 130bhp
The buyer got in touch to ask if I'd ever had the engine remapped for more power. Said it felt far more powerful than 130 hp. Certainly not by me and I doubt by the one previous owner as he was some sort of salesman and did 100k mainly motorway miles in his 2.5 years of ownership. I always thought it did pull really well but assumed that was just par for the course.

In case it's of any interest, I received 12 calls from 492 views on the Autotrader website. I suspect that I might have been able to hold out for a better price but never mind. A bird in the hand...

2004 Skoda Octavia L&K Estate diesel 1998cc 130bhp
I ended up buying my son a Fiesta but also want to replace my diesel A4 Avant. Top of the list is another Octavia Estate. Petrol this time though. Although me and the other half need to work out whether we need a car each and if something smaller would do. So maybe Fabia instead.

Yes. I got a few calls after putting an add in Autotrader. A guy called me yesterday afternoon and said he'd come down from Leeds to pick it up that evening. So he got a coach down to Leicester, bought the car for £350 and then drove back to Leeds. Messaged me back to say he got back fine and the car drives like a dream!

Some of the more recent work and a stack of other stuff going back to 2004. You might have to download the image and zoom in to see the work. Embarrassing how much I've spent on this in recent years. Best offer so far is £300. Not from the forum. Will be collected this evening. So last chance if you're procrastinating.

Hi. I'm in Leicester LE2. About a 20 min walk from the train station. Very close to the University and Victoria Park.

Hi Dean Wow! That looks incredible. If mine was in the same condition I would be keeping it. Sadly I have no mechanical knowhow so wouldn't know where to start when it comes to breaking a car. A shame really as there must be loads of new and/or low mileage parts. Cheers. John

So here is the service record. Did I really use Skoda until nearly 170k miles?!? I must have been mad! Since then I've used a really good local independent garage. There's a lot of other supporting documentation but its bank holiday and I'm off to the pub for a few beers. I'll try and sort out the other stuff later but it might not be until tomorrow depending on beer quantity. Cheers John

Hi Dave Never been smoked in. According to my son the sun roof still works. He said that if he parks it on one side of the road there is sometimes a few drips from the drivers door side. So he tries to park on the other side of the road! I didn't notice any damp or damp smells when I was in it earlier. Aircon is working. It was last regassed almost two years ago. Rear parking sensors are working. 6 speed. I'm open to offers. The money will go towards my son's insurance so as much as is feasible possible. WeBuyAnyCar have offered £290 but I don't expect them to honour that if I turn up in it. The car has to go so its more about it going than getting a certain price.

2004 Skoda Octavia L&K Estate diesel 1998cc 130bhp
Hi. Today's excursion got cancelled so here are the photos. I bought a car for my son this morning so the Octavia is immediately available. Let me know if you want any more or if you want me to provide any in higher resolution. The central locking on the offside rear door does not work. Either permanently locked or unlocked. It does open from the inside so passengers can get out. Both front seats starting to show their age. The drivers seat has a split and there are a couple of cracks on the passenger side. Both the headlight washer housings have gone in the last two years. The casualties of divs that can't park without backing into the car behind them. Cosmetically its not brilliant and would benefit from a wash and vac but given its value I can't see me bothering. I can't keep it too much longer as I want to cancel the insurance. I'm also going to advertise it locally and maybe eBay/Autotrader/Facebook if I get round to it. The engine is great and it would make a great workhorse. I will try and collate all the old invoices and load them this evening.

2004 Skoda Octavia L&K Estate diesel 1998cc 130bhp
New member to the forum but I have been a frequent anonymous visitor over the years. Make & Model: 2004 Skoda Octavia L&K Estate diesel 1998cc 130bhp Colour: Blue {Bluey Green in my eyes) Mileage: 194k Price: £ ??? See description below Description: I don't want to invest too much time documenting everything if the car it not worth anything to anyone on here. I'm the second owner from 12/11/2006 and approx 100k miles. I was the main driver for a number of years, then my wife and now my son. V5 shows one previous owner. It's been a fantastic family car and has been serviced every year. I've probably spent far too much keeping it on the road in recent years but it now needs to go. A couple of years ago my wife wanted a smaller petrol car as her commute became a short local run. Instead of selling it I thought I'd let my son use it as he had just passed his test and needed a commuter. There then followed very expensive black box insurance which we subsequently cancelled as it was too restrictive. There then followed even more expensive normal insurance. Very expensive insurance renewal is due in August which I can't justify paying. MOT expires 9 July 2025. I'm not expecting any failures but it is a 21 year old car. My 20 year old son also now has a much shorter commute so I want to get something much smaller and cheaper to run for him like a petrol Fabia. I might get a couple of hundred from a breaker or online car buying/auction operator but what I want to ask is it worth anything more to anyone on here either to carry on using or as a donor car? Obviously I can dig out all the old receipts, history book, and post more photos if its worth my while. Car in daily use so the mileage will be increasing but not at a very high rate. The car would be unavailable until my son has a replacement vehicle. Condition: Very used Service History/Receipts/Recent Service work: FSH. Cambelt was done a few years ago. I can dig out the details if anyone is interested. See https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/ for details of MOT failures that have been fixed. Also this year the ignition barrel seized completely. So I had the barrel replaced and two new keys cut but retained the original transponders in new shells. So they both operate the central locking. However, to save the unnecessary expense of replacing the door and boot locks I have kept the original, now naked, key blades which can be used in the locks manually if necessary. In the last few weeks the heater blower packed up so has been replaced. I could have lived without this expense but at that point wasn't sure about whether to keep the car another year. Front 12V socket has never worked so I run a long extension lead from the one in the boot if we need to use one. I finally got annoyed enough with this that I bought a new one only to find that there was no wiring to it. Weird! Collection: Leicester LE2
