  1. I checked them out and found that they tuned Audi Q3 MY2022 with exact engine like mine and got about 235hp, so it looks like it is possible to tune it and this shop i called is just incapable to do it. Since im not from UK, looks like i should search for another tuning shop near me then. Thanks for the advice.
  2. Hello everyone, I own a Superb Mk3 facelift, MY2023 with a 2.0 TDI 200 hp 4x4 DSG. I am interested in chip tuning it to stage 1, i researched a bit and found that i can be tuned to about 230-240 hp without any mechanical modifications. So i called a tuning shop and asked them and the guy working there said to me that it is impossible to tune it because the ECU itself is locked in some way and can't be modified. The tuning shop was suggested to me by a friend who tuned two cars there and was satisfied with their work, so that answer surprised me a bit. For clarification both cars that my friend tuned were older VAG cars, around 2012 model years. I am familiar with whole SFD thing and Volkswagen locking out all kinds of modules and software on newer cars but i thought that my Superb isn't that new to be much affected with that whole thing. My question is, is it true that these engines can't be tuned or is that shop not qualified enough to work on newer cars and should i try and search for another tuning garage? Thanks in advance
  3. I think im still gonna go with VCDS, it just seems like more powerful and more versatile tool. Besides, i have way of obtaining unlimited vin vcds for about 70 euros, so money-wise its better solution, and i wanna help out few friends with VAG cars, and use it on my older seat as well. My primary question in this thread was regarding online reporting and general experience on using vcds with mk3 superbs. There is still some doubt with SFD, but i guess im gonna find out when i buy it and try coding with it. Thank you all for all answers and suggestions.
  4. Yeah but it still showed error, where in normal conditions it should just say refill adblue. Besides, you filled it day before and it shows like its empty. My superb have about 13 liters tank and i think so do yours, so for it to show 1000km range or any message regarding fluid level with just 5 liters missing is not normal. What your car is trying to say is that something in your adblue system is broken (pump, sensor, injector, software error or whatever) and it gives you 1000 km range to get it fixed before car shuts itself completely. You have some problem with adblue system which cannot be further diagnosed without some ODB scanner which you don't have. Take it to shop.
  5. Overfilling adblue system can cause all sorts of problems and it can cause adblue to misbehave. I personally on my mk3 fl superb, since i have digital cluster and i have reading now much fluid is missing, wait until it shows 10.5-11 liters missing, buy a jug of 10 liters and fill it so i can never overfill it. Since you don't have any diagnostic tool that could give us more insight into problem, I think you need to take it to workshop since check engine light and errors that keep returning clearly shows that something is not right with adblue system. Last thing you need is to get stranded by your own car if it refuses to start due to adblue error.
  6. What range does it currently shows? Did you overfill it, i.e. fill it to the brim?
  7. I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with adblue system itself, not just lack of fluid. It shouldn't say error, let alone give check engine light under normal conditions. Do you have any obd scanner to scan for errors? How much fluid did you refill, i.e. how much fluid was in tank when it showed you error?
  8. Tbh, i don't know, it always seemed to me that VCDS is ultimate diagnostic/coding tool for VAG cars. Every serious VAG-oriented workshop that i brought my car in had VCDS to diagnose and reset service intervals and stuff. And with OBDEleven you have to buy credits and it seems like more expensive option. Besides, i want to have powerful tool for diagnostics and reading various parameters in my VAG cars down the road, not just to code stuff and throw it away, and from what i saw by doing some research (youtube vids), VCDS provides more in-depth look at your car electronics than OBDEleven. Still, there is one significant advantage to OBDEleven, SFD unlocking, but i think (hope) that my superb being mk3, still allows some stuff without SFD. In my view, VCDS is more powerful, but less user-friendly software compared to OBDEleven, correct me if im wrong.
  9. Thanks for answers. My biggest concern was that software change online reporting thing. Regarding SFD, since facelift is from 2019, and as far as i know VAG started using SFD intensively as of 2020, i hope i would still be able to change at least some stuff. I've seen some threads here regarding coding on FL models, as well as some videos on youtube of people coding it, so i figure im gonna be able to do so too. After all, even if i fail to code on my superb due to SFD, i have other older VAG car in house, so VCDS isn't gonna go to waste.
  10. Hello everyone, I have 2023 mk3 facelift superb l&k and i wanna tweak some minor things using vcds. I've read somewhere that on new generation of superb (mk4) if you change something in cars software with vcds or similar programs, car senses that and flags it since its always connected to internet, and that doing such things can void your warranty or even alert workshops so they reset your software when u bring it for service. Now, i don't know if that is true, but still i gotta ask, does mk3 have such nonsense, especially since my is really young, from october 2023, almost as 4th gen, and if someone here used vcds on mk3 superbs, what are your experiences? Also, what is minimum version of vcds that's required to work properly with my car?
