  1. Update Ecu needed replacing as well as entire cable from pump to ECU. Additionally a bunch of neighboring wires at the ECU end were replaced as the damage went from pump to ECU and ecu to other connections. It is working for now . Garage said I have been unlucky.
  2. Garage called to say replacing everything.. pump, wiring and connector. I guess the original failure leaked for some time
  3. Sounds like pump has leaked into electrical connector. That has happened twice to me now. I will let you know how the garage sort it.
  4. Hello. I changed the pump again this week. The replacement Bosch pump had failed and leaked into the electrical connection area just kike the original. Sadly simply replacing the pump has not cleared the error code and it is booked in to fix at garage tomorrow. I suspect the connector needs replacing again just like before. Crazy failed already. Attached picture shows the failed pump. The pump still functioned just not communicating to car correctly I guess
  5. Hello, I replaced coolant pump b with a Bosch unit purchased from Amazon: Bosch Additional water pump 0 392 023 454 Engine is chpa I believe it has worked since fitting end of May but now I have warning light and code p261b again. My thoughts are - dodgy electrics, faulty pump or not correct replacement fitted?? It looked identical to the Bosch one I took out. Any thoughts appreciated and be great if anyone can suggest correct part to try to replace with again that they know works. Thanks
  6. I managed to swap the engine coolant sensor over and it has cured the issue. It was easy to access from underneath. Thanks for suggesting that. I couldn't manage to get the original o ring seal out so re used.
  7. Thanks that's good and useful information. I wondered if possible to get from underneath. I have ordered part to fit now and fingers crossed solves. I
  8. If i turn it to max on the heating control then it will come out very hot once been on for a bit. I am not sure with the hot weather at the moment if I can tell if hot without selecting max
  9. I am pretty sure at back somewhere near under the turbo actuator. Best I could find was a VW polo video on you tube but note sure same engine etc.
  10. I have found Febi 106571 Coolant Temperature Sensor which might be ok?? If where I think it is located at back of engine bit tricky to reach. Also, it looks like a flat hexagon head bolt not a torx type
  11. Hello, Can anyone kindly point me to the relevant part and exact location of the coolant temperature sensor on the engine block? I believe this is causing my car to incorrectly report lower than actual coolant temperature but if anyone has any other suggestions as to what I can try much appreciated. Syptoms - car dash temperature taking a very long time to show any temperature above 50c and does not reach normal operating temperature. What I have so far tried which has not made a difference- replaced the water pump with a complete unit including new thermostat (including draining and replacing coolant) replaced the coolant tempeature sensor at radiator return Also live data shows same coolant reading as the dashboard so I dont think it can be the instrument cluster. Car is 2014 1.4 tsi 140bhp 118k miles. Owned from 30k miles. thanks
