Thank you. I have a problem with the heating / cooling in the cabin. I have seen the fixes for resetting the blowers which works for a bit. But the main problem is that I don't get hot air out of the drivers side vents. Passenger side is good. Not much of a problem at the moment as the weather is nicer but I want to get it sorted before autumn and I have ignored it for too long. I have found a post relating to a problem with a "magnetic valve" which may need replacing - i just need to locate it, and may have to fork out for a Haynes manual - i don't think they are as good as they used to be. ALSO, and I think it might be somehow related... the engine idle speed sometimes remains at about 1000rpm (when coming to a stop at traffic lights, etc), even after the engine is up to temperature. It isn't doing it at the moment, sits at 750rpm. But I can sort this out (sometimes) by turning the stop/start feature off, or turning off the heating/aircon blowers. Again, it's a temperamental problem that happens totally unrelated to whatever the weather is. Appreciate any pointers or assistance. I am reasonably confident with repairs but would like to be able to do this myself instead of taking it to a garage.

Hello everyone, Just registered on the website and saying hi. Currently own a 2016 Octavia 3 2.0 TDi estate. Bought second-hand but love the car after 2.5 years of driving. A couple of niggly little faults which led me to this website. The car is nicely broken in with 115,000 miles - roughly middle-aged. Am looking to keep it going as long as I possibly can as I don't believe cars are disposable items. Look forward to learning as much as I can from you all, and hopefully being able to contribute to discussions. Mark
