Hi, I locked my keys in the boot of the car in France and the car auto system locked them in after 30 secs, called the AA and the French recovery man could not get in, so he connected a battery to the tailgate switch presumably to see if that would allow it to open. No luck. He suggested having the car transported back to UK. No way, as I had 5 people in the car and was driving back to UK early the following morning. I smashed the rear door window and got access to my keys but found the boot would not automatically open. The only way I can open it is to crawl in the back and operate the switch in the tailgate. I have checked the fuses but there is no number 50 fuse under the dash, so assume it must be a control unit somewhere that has tripped or blown. My lights and rear wash are working OK. Does anyone have any advice?
