  1. I have the beginnings of rust on the rear arch/sill and am looking for a suitable bodywork company around the Nottingham Derby area. Anyone got a good company they can suggest. Thanks Dave
  2. Hi all I need a replacement hatch plastic trim as mine has cracked and rattles. Has anyone got any idea of the correct part name and the number. To clarify the part is the internal black plastic cover that the hatch close loop pokes through. cheers Dave
  3. Hi all Just had a Revo stage one put on the VRS yesterday and today both lights came on while on M69, could be dirt due to road conditions ice and snow. Or is there anything else to look at before I can get it scanned at the weekend??
  4. I will check the manufacture date when back in the UK and see how old they are. A friend in the trade has told me that he has seen it more often where the rear tyres on cars are starting to lose shape rather than front leading to lots of people bringing in the cars asking for wheel bearing changes. Thats how my issue started. Once these tyres are changed but only when worn, I will be able to workout if the gearbox or diff is making a noise.
  5. The car is making a high pitch whine at speed it also changes pitch dependent upon the service, I intend on getting the alignment done when I have time. This is the first set of tyres that have doen this all other Uniroyals have been brilliant. I have been back to the supplier who contacted the wholesales people who are not interested and will not do anything. So next time different model of tyre for me.
  6. Just been reading on another forum about people having issue with tyres becoming misshapen, Uniroyal Rainsport 2 being one of the worst. I am now on my 3rd set of 2's less than 3k old and these have gone castlated, all other sets never have. Has anybody else had recent issues with tyres as it seems at lot of people are reporting issues. Also any ideas what the cause coulb be??
  7. Back to the old bearing noise just had a garage suggest its a gearbox issue due to the rough grinding at 20. It then goes quiet and bearing noises appeare over 50, another mechanic friend has shown me that the inner edge on all 4 tyres have castllated and may be the bearing sound any ideas, don't want to put tyres on as they have over 6 mm tread and 1000 for a gearbox is too much at the mo
  8. Their tune offers 212bhp and 295 Nm, I know the torque is lower than Shark, but want to know if the map has any issues that cheaper maps have? I would really like the Shark map but finding the time to get to them is difficult where Tuned is only 5 mins from home.
  9. Should have said I was hoping someone had any experience of their mapping ability thanks
  10. Has anybody heard anything about this company, just outside Nottingham. They are well regarded for Vauxhall particuarly diesel but also do VAG vehicles. Just want to know if anyone has any experience??
  11. No play found in rear bearings all smooth, will have to wait to see if it gets worse
  12. Checked the CV joints, they were fine so back to suspecting a bearing????
  13. The noise is constant when in neutral or with the clutch dipped
  14. I have got Rainsport 2's allround and have switched front to back, which made no difference, can't swap left to right as they are directional rotation. Real strange one, not heard a noise made by a failing CV joint so not sure if it could be that.
  15. Any ideas, I have already changed both front wheel bearings on my Vrs but I still have a bearing noise, the noise is a grinding at 20mph then silent at 30-50 then it starts making the wowwing noise. Initially the noise appeared to be louder going round a roundabout, so I changed the nearside, no different then the offside. There appears to be no play in the rears and it will also go quieter when towing or going up a steep hill.
  16. Help I need a new clutch but on holiday in Charmouth anybody know where to go and idea of cost ????
  17. Problem solved pipe from charcoal filter and middle pipe wrong way round, been like this since Cambelt change in December, strange how it took this long to be an issue, must be down to a nearly empty fuel tank. Thanks for the help.
  18. Any idea what order they should be in? Also read that the canister valve can stick anybody heard if this??
  19. Strange one this, car is leaking fuel around the tank, but especially when the engine is running. When running if the fuel cap is removed fuel is ejected from the filler pipe, the leak is enough to lose about half a gallon in 5 miles when running. There is no sign of damage the fuel filter was changed about 1k back and isn't leaking. The engine is running silky smooth and not misfiring. Is there a vent to to the filler pipe, as also there is a vacuum froming in the tank due to the gurgling noise from the tank when removing the cap if engine not running.
  20. Anybody got any experiance of them, friend has just become a mobile tech for them and can do me deal on a stage 1 for my vRS
  21. Ok will ask them but I think as they are Aviva group they will say nope
  22. Thinking of getting a map but not sure if current insurer are flexible (quotemehappy), don't want to ask the question as it can cause issues with records as this happened to me with a civic in the past. How much more did people pay per year when they upgraded
