  1. Perfectly said! If there's really no way of going around the inconvenience of switching and storing full winter sets every year, Cross Climate tyres are definitely the way to go. They're quite sufficient for nearly all winters in the UK, particularly when compared to normal summer tyres, which do not stand a chance when it gets cold and wet! They surely won't match the grip or braking in heavy snow and ice that actual winter tyres have, but for the average weather we get around here, they are sure doing an adequate job. What aided me a lot while changing was a mobile tyre fitting Newport. They came to my driveway to fit my all-season set, thus no need to waste time booking garage slots or moving tyres to and fro. It is a very convenient option indeed in case you decide to swap between seasonal sets or just want to get new all-seasons mounted without a hassle. I wonder if anyone here had experience with some other brands of the all-terrain tyres under British conditions. I've read praises for Michelin CrossClimate and Goodyear Vector but haven't compared them directly yet. Would love to hear any first-hand impressions.
