Hi, I have no audio on my Columbus for music / Bluetooth / phone. The display is ok and the parking sensors still make a noise. The unit has not been updated or changed - just of the blue the other morning it was mute.... I have checked all the volume settings, re-started it using the arrows/microphone keys and removed it to check the connections - so far no joy. I am wondering what to do next with it ? My initial thoughts are - Anything else obvious I should do ? (restore factory settings ? would lose my updates .....) Can anyone recommend someone in the Manchester area to fix it ? (if they're mobile even better) Am I likely to get any joy out of a main dealer if it's major ? (it's out of warranty - nearly 5 yrs old) Any non franchise places with reasonable prices ? Is there a decent after market alternative that's as good or better if it needs replacing ? Anyone on here a whizz with them ? Any suggestions appreciated - Thanks (Any suggestions which avoid me getting rinsed for a load of cash even more appreciated :$$$: ) Mickey.

Thanks, will have a browse - I'm no technician, but the light and grille look pretty straightforward (as long as the bulb points where it should) - was just going to get chips away / smart repair to sort the paint on the bumper.

After somebody kindly hit my parked car and forgot to leave their details I am wondering where is the best place to get a new Headlight (f/n/s), black plastic grille cover and the chrome trim that goes around it - car is a 2011 Superb tsi. Not having much luck after a cursory look on t-internet and haven't decided whether or not to just give it to the insurance to sort out (just needs these parts and the plastic bumper re-spraying.) I got the V13 map updates no problem and I'm happy with them. . . . The icing on the cake was supposed to be an update of Personal POI's for safety cameras - try as I might (six hours worth today with four different sd cards) this just will not load into my 2011 Columbus. The Personal POI's option on my menus is dark as though it's not in use. My software version is 3984. Why there isn't just an sd card for sale to do this, without a load of terminology and abbreviations to bamboozle the likes of me I just don't understand. . . . . .I have read the forums on here and am non the wiser. The aftermarket service is absolutely garbage - as though they aren't interested in making more money (apart from shifting a couple of sets of two hundred quid map dvds) - perhaps they should look at this again, with all the fines heading their way ! Maybe its a generation thing and I'm moving towards that generation - comfortably in a 2.0tsi DSG, with up to date maps, if no speed cams......end of rant . . . .

Good Afternoon, Yesterday my car wouldn't change gear and a spanner was flashing on the dash where it normally displays what gear I am in. I pulled over and stopped the engine. When I started again it was working fine. Anybody else experienced this ? Its coming up to 4 years old and due a service next month so I will mention it. It is under warranty (from Sytner) but I don't want to mither them if it's nothing. Also does it need the oil changing in the gearbox at four years old ? (its a six speed DSG) Thanks, Mickey.

I have just bought a used Superb (2011 model) and was about to load some music onto the hard drive. After investing £17 in a 32gb card - it seems that either that the unit won't read the card or the songs from iTunes are in the wrong format and need to be changed into MP3 format - as they won't load into the car. As this creates duplicates in the iTunes library, I will then have all my music twice which will really annoy me. I have also read that there are issues with the order of songs on the sd card - they all get mixed up and titles/artists aren't recognised. Are there easy solutions to this - I am a bit of a technophobe ? Should I just use the iPhone on Bluetooth ? this does work and I have more music than the drive will hold anyway .... Also, I tried a dvd in the slot and that worked fine - would a video file have to be in a specific format if I put that onto the memory card and tried to play it ? and could I save video onto the hard drive instead ? (it didn't give me the option with the dvd) Thanks, Mickey....

Hi, I have been lucky to own 4 Skoda's including 2 petrol Octavia vrs (mk1 and mk2) and a petrol Octavia Scout (petrol is my preference as I am a low mileage driver) and after a 4 year flirtation with Volvo (another of my favourites) I have just bought the best car I have ever had - A used Superb 2.0tsi Elegance DSG. It is better equipped, more powerful and cheaper to tax than the Volvo S60 I sold and I am extremely pleased with it so far - Space, build quality, looks, comfort, the DSG box to name but a few. I am looking forward to gaining the benefit of other Skoda owners on the forum as well as sharing some of my own observations......Thanks for welcoming me. Regards, Mickey Rennie

Hello, I am new to the forum, but not to the Octavia vrs - I previously owned the 180bhp hatch, but now have the new vrs estate. I have a dilemma.......How do you fit a Giant Schnauzer into a vrs estate safely - bearing in mind a height of 27 1/2 inches to the shoulder - and a fitted cage is about £500, anybody got any good ideas ? ? ?
